Donald Trump’s advisers have somehow taken him from unlikely nominee to unlikely president-elect to unlikely President. In that time, however, they’ve also had some pretty crazy ideas. Such as this one.
President-elect Donald Trump is being urged by some advisers to save at least one dance, as he celebrates his inauguration on Friday night, for a very special Republican lady — Caitlyn Jenner.
“It’s a brilliant idea,” a member of the incoming administration told me.
Besides mollifying the LGBTQ community — wary of conservative Republicans in general, and of Trump in particular — dancing with Jenner could mend fences within the party.
“Time heals all wounds,” one GOPer pointed out.
I have three thoughts.
- How would Trump rate Jenner on a one to ten scale.
- Do they leave room for Jesus or do they really get into it?
Damn do I love that song.
Anyway, I understand wanting to bridge gaps with the LGBTQ community, and I understand that Jenner has been a stalwart Republican for years, but this is just… kinda weird, right? How does this end well? Who really benefits from this circus?
Thrusting a womanizing serial adulterer who is about to become the president into a dance with a woman who used to be a man seems like Hollywood trying to write a sequel to The Birdcage… Surely Nathan Lane is somewhere in that cast. That would be so awesome.
Honestly, though, this dance may make him question his manhood. But then again, he gave that up when he became Caitlyn.
