Ryan’s Roadmap

Jed Babbin has the top story at Human Events today.

Yes, George W. Bush spent too much and proved redundantly that the term “big government conservative” is an oxymoron. And yes, when Bush left office our economy was in trouble.  But how long will Obama claim that the only way for our economy to recover is to continue a spending spree that will leave us unable to recover from government debt?

Apparently, forever.  In his State of the Union speech, Obama said, “One year ago, I took office amid two wars, an economy rocked by a severe recession, a financial system on the verge of collapse, and a government deeply in debt.  Experts from across the political spectrum warned that if we did not act, we might face a second depression.  So we acted — immediately and aggressively.  And one year later, the worst of the storm has passed.”

But it hasn’t.  Unemployment is still nearly 10% and — according to Reagan administration economist Arthur Laffer – the “recovery” we are in is a false one.  With the Bush tax cuts about to expire, and both capital gains taxes and estate taxes to rise next year, we’re headed into a far worse economic crisis than we suffered last year.  But that doesn’t deter the president one bit.

Repubs must prove their quality

KathW (Diary) Monday, February 8th at 1:36PM EST (link)

Ryan says, “We have a choice of two futures in Congress.” I can see that, I believe most Tea Partiers see that, but what about the Repubs? Are they going to get on board, support the Roadmap and talk it up? The Dems have already locked and loaded against it. They’re ecstatic to shoot at the Roadmap. They think it’s a great conversation changer from Obamacare. Will the Repubs fall back on stalling, which was a good strategy *last year*, or will they fight? So far Boehner is dodging. The Roadmap dies if all the burden of selling it falls to Ryan.

Dems just don't trust the man with two first names

Leona Helmsley, the billionaire hotel queen, once famously kidded: “Never trust anyone with two first names.” Sadly, it appears that Obama and the congressional Democrats are taking her joke literally by shamelessly ignoring Paul Ryan’s (WI-1) comprehensive fiscal plan for America.

Tigers can not change their stripes

Obama’s plan (all Bush’s fault) is based upon everything he and his administration knows. BHO is a anti-Constitutional lawyer and has never created wealth. His appointees are all government largess parasites and they have never created wealth. All they know is that whenever more is needed, it came from the government. WHAT ELSE CAN YOU EXPECT. Tigers can not change their stripes

I am really starting to fall for Ryan.

He’s got very good ideas, presents them well and deserves some air time from the R party.
