Yesterday, we began a multi-part series on the recent violence and other activities now taking place in some of America’s largest cities. In that piece, I introduced you to an activities pyramid that shows the things taking place that, if intense enough and widespread enough, could indicate that an open revolt is right around the corner. Throughout the next few days, we will refer back to the graphic.
Today, we’ll discuss what is happening, the short and long-term effects. Although we won’t discuss every level in the pyramid, we will touch on enough to show some relationships and provide examples that will help the reader recognize such when they see it.
First of all, the low hanging fruit: Riots, looting, arson, the open and notorious attempted and actual assassination of citizens and police officers. We are seeing those every day. The destruction is running into the billions of dollars. Businesses, many of them minority-owned, have been destroyed, the owners put out of business…permanently. It’s going to take quite a while to recover from some of this.
The victims of all of this violence aren’t the only ones being affected. Police officers have started to retire in droves. They believe they have little support from their communities, their command staff, or their political masters.
From the New York Post:
Cops are hanging up their handcuffs in huge numbers.
The flurry of Finest farewells began after the police-involved killing of George Floyd on May 25, with 272 uniformed cops putting in retirement papers from then through June 24, the NYPD says.
That’s a 49 percent spike from the 183 officers who filed during the same period last year, according to the department.
Further down (emphasis mine)
Police Benevolent Association president Patrick Lynch said cops are “at their breaking point, whether they have 20 years on the job or only two. We are all asking the same question: ‘How can we keep doing our job in this environment?’ And that is exactly what the anti-cop crowd wants. If we have no cops because no one wants to be a cop, they will have achieved their ultimate goal.”
And
Ed Mullins, president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association, said an “exodus” from the NYPD has begun. He said nearly 80 of his members have recently filed for retirement, and that morale is “at the lowest levels I’ve seen in 38 years.”
The fiery union leader added, “People have had enough and no longer feel it’s worth risking their personal well-being for a thankless position.”

All the above is displayed graphically on the chart. On the right, you have the riots which in turn feed from the left, directly into the Increased sapping of morale of government, administration, police and military, level of the pyramid. As I mentioned previously, at a certain point, all of this is happening simultaneously and becomes mutually supporting. However, there are certain things that need to happen prior to other things beginning.
That brings us to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) and the Anti-Fascist (ANTIFA) movements. No matter the disingenuous comments by the Director of the FBI:
WASHINGTON (AP) — FBI Director Chris Wray told lawmakers Thursday that antifa is an ideology, not an organization, delivering testimony that puts him at odds with President Donald Trump, who has said he would designate it a terror group.

Both BLM and ANTIFA are organizations…and they are terrorist organizations.
According to the FBI (emphasis mine):
Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives</strong” (28 C.F.R.

BLM and ANTIFA are not hierarchical organizations in the traditional sense. They are loosely organized with no one person in charge of setting the agenda. However, both organizations, as pointed out in the chart, have been coordinating operations with each other. Why? Two words: Communications and Logistics.
In order to get the ground troops, and make no mistake about it, the street thugs, the radical feminists, and the scrawny pajama boys are the ground troops who need to be told when and where to show up and what to do. The two organizations, if they coordinate can divide up territories so as to make the best use of resources. On the other hand, if the circumstance requires a public display of unity by means of conducting a joint operation, good communications can make that happen also.
The other part of scaling up operations is logistics. After so many days of rioting, there is only so much stuff laying around to pick up and throw at cops. Although it’s a good start to encourage your ground troops to equip themselves, obviously both organizations are taking logistics into account. Check out this video of riot supplies and equipment being issued out from a U-Haul Truck.
If you had any question that the forces behind Antifa and BLM are coordinated and funded and not quite as organic as you might support (to put it mildly). Let’s move a little further down towards the base of the pyramid. Before we can get disturbances going on a large scale, there are some other things that need to happen. The message of discontent…the grievances need to have penetrated society’s institutions. The grievances must be widely believed to be factually true. People must believe that the police are indeed making a special effort to hunt down and kill Black men. It’s especially handy if these grievances real or completely fabricated, get traction in organizations that we wouldn’t normally believe susceptible to the more outrageous claims.
The NFL is one example. It has completely bought into the BLM falsehood. The Democrat National Committee is, of course, in the business of politics, but the acceptance of the BLM and ANTIFA raison d’etre has forced them to move much farther to the left and much faster than is good for their political health.
Closer to my own heart, are the Service Academies, The US. Military Academy at West Point, the Naval Academy at Annapolis, and the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs. All three of these staid institutions have gone off the deep end lately, with diversity training and wholesale embrace of the non-existent issue of systemic racism. There are even chain of command positions within the Corps of Cadets called Diversity Officers Here is a sample by my good friend, colleague, retired Navy Captain and alas, Naval Academy Graduate, Stu Svrk:

This doesn’t happen without active support of the Flag officers, the Generals, and Admirals that run our Armed Forces. As evidenced by several incidents with President Trump, these guys ultimately, don’t do anything they really don’t want to do. Or if they do, it’s grudgingly and at a slow walk. Whatever is going on at the Service Academies and in the Armed Forces in general, the most respected institution in these United States, has the approval and support of the Generals running the show.
Finally, we reach the base of the pyramid. Before we go further, I need to address a small issue. This graphic is used to illustrate a process/structure as to how a successful revolution takes place a la Cuba or Nicaragua. Towards the top, it draws a line. Above the line are overt operations. Below the line are clandestine operations. For the rest of this series, I would ask that you view clandestine as those activities that may actually take place in plain sight.
The bottom two levels are the most important in the whole stack.
Creation of an atmosphere of wider discontent through propaganda, lies and political and psychological effort: discrediting government, police and military authorities
Dissatisfaction with political, economic, social administrative, and/or other conditions; national aspiration Independence) or desire for ideological and other changes.
It’s important to note that these two can switch places in the hierarchy. It is possible to create dissatisfaction where little or none existed before. This is a preferred technique of the left. they take what I like to call statistically invisible issues and elevate them to national crises. The left also operates at two levels.
First, there is the long term attack on our institutions. When I use the term institutions, I am referring to these things that form the fabric of America: Schools, Scouting, the Military, the electoral process, to name but a few. I assure you, this attack has been ongoing for decades, albeit at an accelerated pace lately. One of the long-term projects has been the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Like the military, the BSA was at one time, one of the most respected institutions in America and one of the great pillars of our society. Being an Eagle Scout was actually a huge plus in the admissions process to West Point. I remember the question actually being on the application: Are you an Eagle Scout?
The BSA, like Christian Churches and Jewish Synagogues, provided a moral foundation for young men. From the left’s perspective, it had to go. What better method, than to attack its moral base by forcing it to sanction immoral behavior by its members. Predictably, that was followed by allowing the same immoral behavior by its adult leadership. Of course, it wasn’t too long before the organization had to declare bankruptcy due to civil suits caused by adult scout leaders committing statutory rape on their charges. Mission accomplished. Next Mission.
The left, while acting and thinking strategically, can also attack targets of opportunity…tactically. Strategically, the left has continued its attacks on the military making it weaker. The first push was to put females into combat formations and into the service academies which at the time, had the stated mission to educate and train COMBAT leaders. That push was followed by allowing persons with severe mental/psychological disorders to serve in the military. These disorders more often than not would result in them being nondeployable.
The above were long term efforts. As I indicated, the left is pretty good at attacking targets of opportunity. If you remember back in June, President Trump decided to inspect the damage to a church near the White House. To show determination to bring rioters and arsonists to justice, he was accompanied by the Attorney General, the Secretary of Defense, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Mark Milley. Predictably, the left pounced on the visit. General Milley, then issued an apology for doing his duty.

As we walked through this, we descended the pyramid. It’s important to note that although we went from top to bottom, the way this builds is from bottom to top. It’s critical to understand that the activities at the bottom have been going on for over a decade, possibly several, before we get to where we are today. It’s even possible to make several trips up and down the pyramid before we devolve to open warfare.
Another thing to be aware of, all of these levels are mutually supporting. Because there was no way to cover all the levels and in the detail necessary in this forum, I would invite the reader to study the graphic. Pick a level. Ask yourself, how do the activities at that level support or how are they supported, by activities at other levels. Once you do that, much of what we have been seeing will come into clear focus.

LATE EDIT: One of the pillars of our once fairly moral society, is the Church. Kira Davis has an excellent piece out on that. Have a look.
