Former VP Joe Biden has officially put his hat into the ring for the 2020 presidential race (no surprise, given he’s privately been telling people he was) and you can bet President Donald Trump was already ready for him.
Taking to Twitter, Trump unleashed on Biden with a fancy new nickname, a few jabs, and a warning that things are going to get pretty nasty, but due more to the people on his side being heinous than anything Trump might do.
“Welcome to the race Sleepy Joe,” tweeted Trump. “I only hope you have the intelligence, long in doubt, to wage a successful primary campaign. It will be nasty – you will be dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate!”

As it stands, Biden does pose the largest threat to Trump as almost every poll shows Democrats most enthusiastic about the former VP. The problem is, not many others seem to have confidence in him for one reason or another. Either he’s too moderate, too creepy, or too white. Even his current senior advisor has qualms about him.
Trump’s warning that Biden’s party is going to make things pretty awful is likely accurate.
It would appear that Biden is fully willing to delve into the nastier parts of the left himself, specifically, agreements with the social justice aspects of the radical left. Biden has already delved into the idea that this nation’s ills are a result of “white man’s culture.”
If that’s the case, then Trump is going to have a field day with Biden should he manage to secure the Democrat nomination. He’s already faced that kind of ideological nonsense once before, only this time he has a strong economy to back up his talk instead of sensationalistic tweets and fancy nicknames for his opponents.
The nicknames seem to help, though.
