Well, at least when it comes to environmental issues, we know where failed Texas Senate candidate Robert “Beto” O’Rourke falls, and it’s straight into the crazy category.
The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra clipped a moment from one of O’Rourke’s campaign stops in Burlington, Iowa, where he compared those creating climate change legislation, such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and her Green New Deal, to that of the soldiers that stormed the beaches of Normandy.

He didn’t stop there, however. In Keokuk, Iowa, O’Rourke adopted AOC’s claim that the world will end in 12 years if we don’t adopt plans such as The Green New Deal, while claiming that all scientists agree with this assessment.
Beto O'Rourke on backing the Green New Deal:
"This is our final chance. The scientists are absolutely unanimous on this, that we have no more than 12 years to take incredibly bold action on this crisis."
He goes on: "Do you want to make it."
They respond: "yes." pic.twitter.com/V6zrgth549

Interestingly enough, both of these claims were made by Ocasio-Cortez in January.
“Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z and all these folks that will come after us are looking up and we’re like: ‘The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?’” Ocasio-Cortez said.
She then described today’s climate change fight as “our World War II.”
The problem is that when Ocasio-Cortez first made that claim that climate change would start racking up a death toll all the way back in November of last year, she was doing so off of a CNN article that claimed climate change could affect America’s GDP by 10 percent, not end the world.
Even so, an actual scientist noted that the studies were basing their findings off of bad information according to the DCNF:
The scientists who wrote the National Climate Assessment (NCA) used unreliable information that exaggerates the risks global warming poses, University of Colorado Prof. Roger Pielke Jr. noted in a series of tweets. He fears the report will make it easier for critics to dismiss future climate studies.
“By presenting cherrypicked science, at odds w/ NCA Vol,1 & IPCC AR5, the authors of NCA Vol.2 have given a big fat gift to anyone who wants to dismiss climate science and policy,” Pielke Jr. wrote in a tweet Friday shortly after the White House released the report. “Embarrassing.”
So O’Rourke is mistaken in thinking he has unanimous consensus from the scientific community.
Ocasio-Cortez, and O’Rourke by extension, are both citing bad science, lying about it’s backing, then rewarding themselves with honorary positions right beside those who charged down certain death and planted an American flag on its defeated corpse.
O’Rourke has gone full AOC. You never go full AOC.
