How Do Republicans Regain the High Ground? By Ending the Mask Tyranny!

It is a target-rich environment for Republicans in Washington, DC, these days, what with the never-ending stream of leftwing executive orders, lunatic Democrat legislation for which nobody voted, and outrageous actions/statements by individual Democrats: attempts to lock in ballot harvesting and other horrible election-related policies, guaranteeing transgender rights, reverting to US dependency on foreign oil, passing a virus relief porkulus bill that virtually guarantees inflation, pushing two gun control bills in process, openly discussing vaccine passports (and strong-arming corporations to do their dirty work), and Mad Maxine Waters’ inciting of riots in Minneapolis over the weekend.

But will Republicans ever get off their duffs in coordinated action against at least ONE of those targets? Democrats surely aren’t shy about taking actions like forcing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) off any committee assignments in the House. And ChiCom spy-loving Democrat Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is STILL on the House Intelligence Committee? While House Democrats can impeach President Trump for supposedly inciting an armed insurrection on 6 January, they have no problem with one of their own crossing state lines to intimidate Chauvin trial jurors by threatening violent riots (insurrection?) if/when Chauvin is acquitted. One can certainly despise the Democrats for their actions while at the same time admiring their chutzpah! As for the Republicans, there is not much to admire these days, as they have taken Obama’s “leading from behind” nonsense to heart by all accounts.

Well, maybe there is ONE issue in which Republicans could finally be pushed into collective action. A couple of Senate Republicans – Rand Paul (R-KY), Roger Marshall (R-KS), and Ted Cruz (R-TX) – are done with wearing masks, each for a different reason: Paul had the ChiCom virus and insists reinfection is unlikely, Marshall agrees with Paul but states that mask-wearing is also an individual liberty/rights issue, and Cruz received a shot and claims getting infected is unlikely. By the way, isn’t Cruz right that the PURPOSE of getting vaccinated is to avoid infection? Or have we all been sold a bill of goods about the wondrous shots/vaccines?

Those three are a good start, but where are the rest of them? Americans of all stripes are fed up with wearing masks, particularly in Red states where virus cases and deaths have been plummeting despite having repealed mask mandates. And, thanks to the internet, many Americans have performed their own research on the efficacy of masks since experts like Dr. Fauci have flipflopped on the issue, and people have found a number of studies conducted that conclude the wearing of masks is not “backed by science” after all (the gold standard for the Left these days). Here are some conclusions from just a few of them:

But the straw that may have broken the mask-mongers’ backs is an April 2021 study from Stanford University that devastates the logic and science for wearing masks. Here is the conclusion from that report (emphasis added):

The existing scientific evidences challenge the safety and efficacy of wearing facemask as preventive intervention for COVID-19. The data suggest that both medical and non-medical facemasks are ineffective to block human-to-human transmission of viral and infectious disease such SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, supporting against the usage of facemasks. Wearing facemasks has been demonstrated to have substantial adverse physiological and psychological effects. These include hypoxia, hypercapnia, shortness of breath, increased acidity and toxicity, activation of fear and stress response, rise in stress hormones, immunosuppression, fatigue, headaches, decline in cognitive performance, predisposition for viral and infectious illnesses, chronic stress, anxiety and depression. Long-term consequences of wearing facemask can cause health deterioration, developing and progression of chronic diseases and premature death. Governments, policy makers and health organizations should utilize prosper and scientific evidence-based approach with respect to wearing facemasks, when the latter is considered as preventive intervention for public health.

How many more studies are needed (there are a lot more that could have been cited) to get rid of the authoritarian ChiCom and Democrat collusion to force Americans to wear masks? The virus is fragile, and ultraviolet light and wind rapidly dissipate and destroy the virus, yet Democrat governors advocate wearing masks even while OUTSIDE! This is sheer lunacy. The Marxist Democrats in Oregon are even contemplating a PERMANENT rule on wearing face masks. That will go great with their failure to defend Portland against the Antifa-initiated street violence that has happened virtually every night for nearly a year now.

Shouldn’t the gutless Republicans in Congress finally announce publicly in unison – on the steps of the Capitol in a planned media event – that the time for wearing masks came and went, oh, about nine months ago or so, and that the decision to wear masks should become a personal one rather than a government mandate? And that should include while in Congress, too (with mass Republican civil disobedience if that violates Democrat-passed mask rules). That’s a whole lot better than Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) threatening to censure Maxine Waters for inciting riots in Minnesota. Prompt, aggressive, bold, and decisive actions, not threats of action or waiting to be pushed to do something!

Some people (sheep?) have been convinced by endless mask-wearing propaganda and the associated fear of catching the virus by the likes of Dr. Fauci and other public health “experts,” elected Democrats en masse, and their media sycophants and echo chamber. They were simply too lazy to do their own diligence on masks and definitely did not ever read this amazing compilation of “mask facts” from the Association of American Physicians ad Surgeons. Let them choose to wear masks if they like, if for no other reason than their own psychological well-being. The rest of us can choose to get on with our lives with one tiny bit of our freedoms having been restored. Then we can move on to rolling back the destructive lockdowns in Democrat states and also boycotting corporations that insist on mask mandates!

It wouldn’t take much for Republicans to actually stand on their own principles for a change, one of which is their oft-stated desire to maximize individual liberty and personal responsibility for all Americans. They would even benefit politically, as a LOT of Americans are tired of being lied to about the false science of wearing masks. And the Republicans can point to the above studies – the science – and hoist the Democrats on their own “trust the science” petard. Let the Democrats try to defend Oregon’s proposed permanent mask mandate. What a concept!

As for me, I’ll keep taking vitamin D, magnesium, and zinc and have Ivermectin ready to go if necessary – and get on with my mask-less life with other South Dakotans! Eat your hearts out, Michiganders.

The end.
