Aided and abetted by leftwing politicians at the federal, state, and local level, the protests that ostensibly started to protest the death of George Floyd while being restrained by Minneapolis police have spread into something that much more closely resembles ad slow motion insurrection. Not only have the police been targeted, seemingly with the objective of increasing the violence and chaos, but the Marxist impulse of the demonstrators has come to the fore in the past week with what seems like a coordinated assault on American history itself.

While most of the destruction of monuments have taken place in cities with Democrat, and therefore anti-American, administrations, a new focus has been on the area near the White House. Three weeks ago, demonstrators attempted to set fire to historic St. John’s Episcopal Church off Lafayette Square. A few days ago, demonstrators toppled the statue of Albert Pike, one of the founders of Scottish Rite Freemasonry and a Confederate general.

Yesterday, the same privileged white demonstrators attempted to topple the statue of Andrew Jackson… the operative word is ‘attempted’ because it is hard to do actual mechanical things when your bicep circumference is equal to your wrist and you majored in gender studies. If the demonstrators were trying to get President Trump’s attention, the attack on the Jackson statue may just have accomplished its purpose.

Thus far, in my view, the federal law enforcement agencies in DC have shown heroic restraint, but it is just a matter of time before things turn violent. The demonstrators are chocked full of unhinged would-be desperadoes who see themselves as potential catalysts to an American version of Lenin’s 1917 revolution…or they would if they had any grounding in history. Sooner or later, they are going to carry out a lethal attack on police in order to try to create an overreaction that will rally more supporters and generate sympathy for the demostrators. This is textbook strategy in Marxist wars of national liberation.

Hopefully this tweet represents actual policy and not just bluster. By tolerating this nonsense, the federal government has set the stage for a much larger and more violent confrontation in the near future. A crackdown now on the most visible vandals would ratchet down the violence as the demonstrators seem to have mistaken forebearance for weakness.
