AOC Proclaims Southern States Must Be 'Liberated', and People Have Thoughts

As my colleague Brandon Morse reported earlier, self-admitted socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had a whole lot to say on an Instagram live chat she conducted Tuesday night, and much of it was not good.

The “Squad leader” also known as “AOC” noted that the idea of some sort of government commission to combat “misinformation” and “disinformation” in so-called “media environments” is “being discussed” as we speak in response to a question from an Instagram fan about ways America can move forward and “heal” from last week’s Capitol riots.

In addition to talk about a supposed truth commission, AOC also proclaimed that the two Democratic victories in the Georgia Senate runoff races last week were a signal that the South was ready to – and needed to be – “liberated” from Republicans:

She then pointed to “multi-racial” and “multi-cultural” grassroots organization in Georgia that led to Democrats taking control of the Senate as a sign that “southern states are not red states, they are suppressed states.”

“Which means the only way that our country’s going to heal is through the actual liberation of southern states, Ocasio-Cortez explained to her 8.3 million Instagram followers, “the actual liberation of the poor, the actual liberation of working people from economic, social, and racial oppression. That’s the only way.”

Watch:

While she did not specify in great detail as to just how that “liberation” would go under a Democratic House, Senate, and White House, people should keep in mind that the actual kind of “liberation” she prefers for the working people who she claims to champion is socialism, which in reality makes poor people even poorer and more oppressed – and a helluva lot more subjugated by the state. By design.

In addition to that, there’s the whole issue of the fact that northerners and west coasters from blue states have been migrating to the southern red states in substantial numbers for decades because of benefits like a lower cost of living and warmer climates, so it sounds like to me that it’s really people everywhere else in the country who could use some economic “liberating” from, well, AOC-style economic “liberation”:

Beyond those inconvenient facts, however, there was this short, sweet, simple and spot-on response:

Nailed it.
