In June, some establishment Republicans were arguing we should repeal and replace only the most politically unpopular provisions of Obamacare.
Heritage Action for America disagreed. We launched an aggressive, nation-wide campaign to repeal Obamacare, and all the taxes, mandates and regulations associated with the new law. Americans want it. Our children deserve it. And we need your help to make it happen.
For far too long, big money special-interest groups have dominated the debate in Washington, running roughshod over the Constitution and our shared conservative values. We saw it during health care and we’re seeing it again – just last month, the Health Information Campaign (a bit Orwellian, huh?) launched a $2 million ad blitz to bailout Obamacare.
If conservatives back down from repeal, these big-government groups will win and our country will suffer. We’re fully committed to repeal and we have set an ambitious fundraising goal to maintain momentum and advance our efforts: raise $200,000 by Friday, October 8.
We’re taking the fight straight to liberals in Washington and into Congressmen’s backyards. Our impact is already visible. In just a few short months, the Heritage Action team has laid a solid groundwork for repeal. Consider what we’re doing:
- Pushing for repeal in Congress. Heritage Action worked with Rep. Steve King (R-IA) to file Discharge Petition 11, which would force a vote on repealing Obamacare. To date, the petition has received the bipartisan support of 173 Members. Heritage Action will continue to hold accountable those members who voted against Obamacare but haven’t signed on to repeal it.
- Running hard-hitting advertisements. Heritage Action’s TV advertisements remind Americans that we must hold our legislators accountable. One recent video became an overnight YouTube sensation. Other advertisements were run in the home districts of key Congressmen to ensure they—and their constituents—know that repeal still matters.
The fight for repeal will not be easy, but it is possible. With your help, we can make it happen.
