We've brought you the Skinny on SCOTUS series, summarizing and breaking down Supreme Court decisions — now, here's another law-related effort: The Evening Docket.
At last count, there are over 190 active cases involving executive actions taken by the Trump administration — and more were filed today. I've been working on a project that enables me to keep track of all (okay, most of) the cases and keep up with the developments in them (as much as is humanly possible).
Not every filing or ruling may warrant a standalone article, but for those interested in the ongoing legal battles, I thought it might be helpful to provide this sort of daily docket/recap with a rundown of substantive filings/developments that day.

So, without further ado, here's Monday's round-up:
- State of New York v. Trump - 1:25-cv-00039 - (case challenging the OMB memo regarding a temporary pause on loans and assistance) — motion for reconsideration of court's enforcement order and alternative request for stay pending appeal denied.
- Associated Press v. Budowich - 25-5109 - (case challenging administration's denial of press (AP) access to the White House) — letter from DOJ to D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals requesting a ruling on administrative stay as district court's stay expired Sunday.
- Associated Press v. Budowich - 25-5109 - (case challenging administration's denial of press (AP) access to the White House) — letter from Associated Press to D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals in opposition to DOJ's letter requesting a ruling on administrative stay.
- Massachusetts Fair Housing Center v. Department of Housing and Urban Development - 3:25-cv-30041 - (case challenging administration's denial of federal grants) — Minute Order entered by Judge Richard Stearns granting administration's motion to dissolve Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) entered March 26, 2025, on the basis of the recent Supreme Court ruling in State of California v. U.S. Dept. of Education indicating that the proper jurisdiction for the plaintiffs' claims would be the Court of Federal Claims.
- Abrego Garcia v. Noem - 8:25-cv-00951 - (case challenging removal of plaintiff to El Salvador) — status report from Joseph Mazarra, acting general counsel for DHS.
And...hot off the presses, new suits filed just Monday and just in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia include:
- Protect Democracy Project v. OMB (regarding transparency as to OMB's apportionment of funds)
- Sierra Club v. EPA (regarding the removal of information from certain agency websites)
- National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild v. DHS (regarding the Freedom of Information Act)
