Dan Crenshaw Shows His True Colors After Tucker Blasts Him for Calling McCarthy Objectors 'Terrorists'

To say that there’s been a lot of drama in the vote for Speaker of the House over the past couple of days would be an understatement. In addition to the drama playing out on the House floor, the attacks on House GOP members who, so far, are refusing to vote for Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to be the next speaker are ratcheting up and even coming from other GOP House members themselves.

But perhaps one of the nastiest smears of those 20 holdouts came from Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), who called them “terrorists.”

No, Dan. You have a right to vote for McCarthy, and the 20 objecting have a right to think he’s not the right guy for the job and/or push for changes. The fact that Crenshaw is attacking other Republicans like this is pretty disgusting.

It got worse. He even attacked them on CNN, calling them “narcissists” and “enemies.”

This was just straight-up slander, saying the objectors preferred a “Democrat agenda.” He even called them “clowns.”

No, they’re objecting to going along with the Democrat agenda and asking for the tools to be able to properly represent their constituents who don’t like what the swamp has been doing. They’re far more in line with the base than is Dan Crenshaw who seems more in line with supporting the “Democrat agenda.” Again, why do they have to give up their vote to comply with what Crenshaw wants?

Tucker Carlson took on Crenshaw’s “neo-con” nastiness. He notes how Crenshaw didn’t address any of the issues that the people objecting might have to McCarthy, he just went after them calling them bad names.

“What you just saw is the snarling face of the donor class,” Carlson opined.

But Crenshaw showed just how over the edge he’s gotten, responding to Carlson.

“Unclutch your pearls,” Crenshaw huffed. “It’s a figure of speech. You can’t insult, slander, and hold everyone hostage with no way out – and not expect me to punch back. Grow thicker skin.”

No, it’s not just a “figure of speech.” You’re the one clutching pearls, Rep. Crenshaw, and throwing a fit over other representatives acting as they think their constituents want them to act. And you’re tossing around terms Democrats would use. When Crenshaw is attacking his colleagues that way, he’s also attacking a lot of the base — a lot of Americans — who want to have some change. What does he think he achieves with that? It’s certainly not going to bring the objectors around to his way of thinking and it’s just going to destroy him in the eyes of anyone who might still have had a favorable opinion of him. How about listening to what they have to say rather than acting like your position is the only position? It sounds like there are folks trying to negotiate to come to a resolution but Crenshaw isn’t helping things.
