So today we bring you the silliest liberal conspiracy story of them all.

The Umbrella Man is responsible for all the rioting.

Who is the Umbrella Man, you say?

Early on in the Minneapolis rioting, back in the before time, B.I.R (Before Insane Rioting), folks were passing around a picture of a guy they nicknamed “Umbrella Man” who they claimed was smashing windows at the Auto Zone. The initial conspiracy theory was that he was a cop. Leftists even doxxed a poor cop and claimed it was him, but he had an alibi and was nowhere near the action.

Well, now they think they’ve figured it all out.

Let’s hear from PBS’s Yamiche Alcindor.

From Star Tribune:

“This was the first fire that set off a string of fires and looting throughout the precinct and the rest of the city,” Sgt. Erika Christensen wrote in a search warrant affidavit filed in court this week. “Until the actions of the person your affiant has been calling ‘Umbrella Man,’ the protests had been relatively peaceful. The actions of this person created an atmosphere of hostility and tension. Your affiant believes that this individual’s sole aim was to incite violence.”

Police identified “Umbrella Man” thanks to a tip that came via e-mail last week, Christensen said.

The Star Tribune could not independently verify the police account, which has so far only surfaced in the search warrant, and isn’t naming the man because so far he has not been charged with a crime. The man, who has a criminal history that includes convictions of domestic violence and assault, did not respond to messages seeking comment. Spokespersons for the Minneapolis Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which is also involved in the investigation, declined to comment.

So basically the story is that the police may have identified the guy because of a tip from an email that he belonged to a white supremacist Hell’s Angels group. But the police haven’t identified the man and haven’t arrested him, somehow media got this off an affidavit filed in the matter. In other words, who knows if they’ve even confirmed it yet.

But that hasn’t stopped folks like Alcindor from being off to the races. And notice how she changes “relatively peaceful” the language of the police to “peaceful.” There was already violence.

Basically Alcindor is claiming the rioting is the fault of the Umbrella Man because he “started” it.

So just disregard the evidence of your own eyes.

It’s the fault of this unknown person who broke a window that rioters and looters burnt down the Auto Zone and also burnt and looted a lot of other businesses as well? It’s the fault of this man that leftists burnt the 3rd Precinct down? It’s the fault of this guy that riots broke out across the country?

I don’t think people who take this tack really understand what they’re saying when they say things like this. We saw black and white people looting the Target in Minneapolis, looting stores in LA, destroying a Mercedes Benz store in Oakland. To suggest that they are somehow have no agency of their own but that precipitated by this alleged ‘white supremacist” seems to be the most racist thing of all.

But that’s not stopping people on the conspiracy train. It’s “Trump’s white supremacists,” some liberals argue, behind the violence. Except these are also the same people who variously argue the federal agents are “Trump’s stormtroopers harming the poor protesters.” Make up your mind!

But they can’t seem to explain how “Trump’s white supremacists” are able to coordinate so well with leftist protest actions, that the riots come out of the protests literally, both during as in Seattle and Chicago, for example, and after, as in Portland.

But hey, liberal. It doesn’t have to make sense or match the evidence we’re seeing with out own eyes. Talk about gaslighting.
