Democratic Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms is one of the people under consideration to be Joe Biden’s running mate.

But she just got some bad news in the past couple of days: she tested positive for the Wuhan coronavirus.

But there are a lot of questions being raised now about her actions including by the Atlanta Journal Constitution her local paper. The AJC observed that she held a press conference the day before on July 5 she got these results, about the killing of 8 year old Secoriea Taylor by protesters occupying a parking lot near a Wendy’s where Rayshard Brooks had been killed by the police. During the press conference, where she delivered lengthy remarks, she spent a good part of the time unmasked and in close proximity to other people including the parents of the little girl.

That set Bottoms off.

She says it was “proactive testing” and that “no one in my house had symptoms then and no reason to quarantine”:

Except that doesn’t seem to quite match other statements on the matter.

Boy, is that tweet a mess. And she seems to be blaming the length of time awaiting testing. But the way it’s supposed to work is once you know you’ve been exposed, you quarantine. So if she knew prior to being tested herself because of the positive test of the member of the family that she had been exposed, then she should have been quarantining and not participating in a press conference or protests.

Here she was on July 4, marching in a BLM protest in very close proximity to other people some without masks on.

She also went on CNN with Chris Cuomo and said that she may have mistaken symptoms for allergies. So in fact she may have had symptoms.

Here she is without a mask during the protest.

She’s now saying that she will mandate mask wearing in public spaces. Do as I say, not as I do.
