Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan has been trying to sell the zone radical leftists and anarchist have carved out of six blocks of the city as a great big “block party” expression of the First Amendment.

Residents and business owners have expressed concerns particularly after the mayor set up concrete barriers to protect the radicals, suggesting she intended to let them stay long term, and when she said on Wednesday that police would not be responding to any calls to the area unless there was an issue of “significant life safety.”

But they didn’t even respond to a robbery where the suspect had a box cutter, according to the victim. The police “observed” from a “distance” rather than offend the radicals by entering.

Police have been missing in the zone since the radicals took over the area earlier this month.

But a reporter working for the local station Fox Q 13, Brandi Kruse posted a clip on her Facebook on Wednesday showing a troubling episode with the radicals verbally and physically attacking her and her crew as they try to leave the area. The incident actually happened on June 8, but it shows just how ugly the mob there can be.

It gets worse after they realize that she works for a Fox station. Kruse urged everyone to look at every minute of it to see the behavior.

“Our crew was targeted, stalked, harassed, and assaulted,” Kruse explained on her Instagram. “The level of vitriol from one member of the mob, who claimed she was a ‘social worker,’ was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. When elected leaders lump this type of behavior into what they’re calling ‘peaceful,’ not only is it a lie, but it’s deeply offensive to those who have been subjected to it. I hope this video is spread widely. Seattle needs to do better.”

Warning for offensive gestures and language:

The initial people call others over and the whole groups continues to assail Kruse and her crew with bad language and hate. At one point she is assaulted by a female. It also appears her cameraman may have been hit as well as she asks the mob not to touch him or his camera. Kruse at one point also tries to explain to them that they are fitting every perception that people have of them by what they are doing by stalking and screaming at her and her crew, but they continue to do it anyway, showing they’re also not the sharpest tools in the draw.

They finally find refuge as the video ends at what looks like a fire house.

But this is the zone now with no police, this is what the Mayor thinks might turn into a “summer of love.”
