Joe Biden did an interview with ABC this morning from his basement.

But he really would have been better off if he had not done it, because it was just so bad.

He went through a list of things that he claimed that President Donald Trump should be doing. Except he didn’t seem to understand that Trump had already done everything he was suggesting. Biden is clearly not able to keep up with the shifting Democratic talking points.

Trump invoked the Defense Production Act on March 18. He also has Rear Adm. John Polowczyk, who is director of fleet ordnance and supply at the U.S. Fleet Forces Command, heading the effort to get supplies and needed PPE into the supply chain for hospitals the might need them. As this Politico article shows, he’s already very busy getting supplies in to distribute.

The administration is also addressing the needs of small business as well.

Biden’s point about travel with China takes some nerve since Trump was one of the earliest take that action and Biden at the time suggested his actions were “xenophobia.” Biden’s campaign didn’t even come out in support of the travel restrictions until April 3, when they tried to suggest they were always for it.

There was this moment where Biden couldn’t remember what year the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic was.

Then here he was desperately trying to search for the name of the virus. After saying “cona,” he settled for calling it “the virus.”

Apparently you can’t build a wall against viruses. Except by cutting travel from infected areas, quarantining actually having walls between infected people and those who are not infected.

Here he appears to talk about “dismantling” something, he may be repeating the lie he has made in the past that the Trump administration dismantled the pandemic office (it was actually absorbed into another office, not “dismantled.”).

He claimed Trump “cut budgets of the CDC” but CDC funding was not actually cut. Indeed it has increased every year under Trump. In terms of “following up” on things, maybe Barack Obama and Joe Biden should have followed up on replacing the N95 masks that were depleted out of the stockpile after the swine flu pandemic as they were advised to.
