There are certain basic principles of life. One is Paul Krugman is always wrong. Another is don’t compare things to 9/11.

Apparently Mehdi Hasan never got the memo.

Hasan is a leftist British journalist who writes for The Intercept and is a presenter for Al Jazeera, who spends a lot of time on Twitter hating on Republicans and specifically President Donald Trump.

Some on the left appear to want the virus to be bad if it can make Trump look bad. Some desperately seem to want it to be his “Katrina” comparing it to Hurricane Katrina for George W. Bush.

But comparing it to 9/11, an attack by radical Islamic terrorists, and seeming to blame Republicans in some way for the attack is truly a hot take.

How twisted to you have to be to blame any part of a terrorist attack on a “reckless GOP president?” Pray tell, what does that even mean?

Trump isn’t responsible for deaths from a hurricane. The “3000” number Hasan appears to be referencing is an “estimate” in which they looked at how many normally would have died over the months immediately after the hurricane and then took the number over that as “deaths” related to the Hurricane. Hasan doesn’t talk about the corruption of the local government that has been messed up for years and may have been responsible for the failure to get out the aid that was given to them.

Over 17,000 people died of the H1N1 swine flu under the Obama administration April 2009-April 2010. Where is Hasan’s criticism of Obama or Biden?

Can we talk about what Democrats were doing while Trump was forming a task force, activating the CDC and cutting travel with China?

This definitely wins most ridiculous tweet of the day, maybe the week and it isn’t even close.
