School District Hires 'Antiracist' Consultants to Ask Parents if Kids Are Taught Enough About Racism

Consider the script flipped, America. At least in Mayland’s Montgomery County Public Schools.

In 2021, the Loudoun County, Virginia, school board was under attack by parents angry over several issues, most notably the teaching (programming) of Marxist-derived Critical Race Theory to young kids.

Now, in 2022, a Maryland school district is paying an “antiracist” consulting firm nearly $1 million to ask parents if their six-year-old children were being taught (programmed) enough about racism in class. Let that sink in.

As reported by Washington Free Beacon, the survey — a copy of which was obtained by WFB — asks Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) parents to rate the district’s “antiracism” curricula.

Questions 7 and 8 read (emphasis, mine):

7. I think my child should be taught to recognize, understand, and interrupt racism.

8. My child is taught about the negative effects of racism in their classes.

Parents were asked to rate their answers, from “strongly agree” to “disagree,” “agree,” “strongly agree,” and “don’t know.” In addition, the survey contains various text boxes with the heading: “If you have any thoughts or comments related to the items in this section, please type them in the text box below.”

The survey asks parents if they believe their children are being “taught about the negative effects of racism in their classes” and whether school libraries “represent people of diverse races, skin colors, ethnicities, and cultures.” They left out this part: “by radical leftists with destructive narratives who want to use our children to change America as we know it.”

As noted by WFB, the survey is just the latest result of a years-long partnership between MCPS and the Mid-Atlantic Equity Consortium (MAEC), a prominent “antiracist” consulting group. Since 2020, MCPS has diverted nearly $1 million of taxpayer funds to the firm to boost its “antiracist” credentials, according to documents obtained by Parents Defending Education.

Shades of “The Godfather”?  Buying “protection,” MCPS?

WFB quoted former Montgomery County school administrator Dee Reuben, who said parents are “livid” over the clear indoctrination program. Remember, with kids as young as six-years-old.

They’re spending so much funding on this, and test scores are down. Parents are livid. I hear this every day—parents are afraid to speak out because they’re afraid of the repercussions that will happen to their kids. Academics is going down the tube, and I think that is a shame considering we were one of the top school systems around—it breaks my heart.

Reuben is right, and this is insane — just like it’s insane all across America. And don’t be fooled: school system after school system continues to lie, claiming they don’t teach Critical Race Theory. That is a complete crock of crap.

Young children are being programmed without the words “critical race theory” even used, including in my conservative home state of Indiana. My colleague Sister Toldjah in November reported on the deceptive tactics uncovered in the Hoosier State.

Reuben heads up United Against Racism in Education, a group comprised of Montgomery County parents, teachers, and community leaders who are concerned with the district’s misuse of taxpayer funds to promote critical race theory. United Against Racism in Education is one of several groups across the country that calls on schools to spend less time pushing “equity” and more time on education.

Imagine that. Using taxpayer dollars allocated for public education to fund public education.

Speaking of which, according to WFB, Montgomery County literacy readiness in 2021 plummeted between 30 and 40 percent depending on grade level. Moreover, only 54 percent of MCPS high school students test at or above the proficient level.

That’s not only unacceptable — it is obscene. The very people charged with — and formerly trusted — to ready America’s kids for the real world; a world where people who get ahead have a tendency to know how to read and write proficiently, are often more concerned with racist nonsense like “equity” vs. equality. And these people are paid by U.S. taxpayers, no less. How many kinds of wrong do we have to uncover before brave people with moral convictions put an end to the madness?

Want more madness?

As I reported on Thursday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki trotted out the podium for her daily lying session, but in a way actually told the truth. That is, about what she — and Biden, as she suggested —think about the Florida legislature’s passage of legislation that bans schools from teaching five-year-olds about homosexuality and transgenderism. In the words of the intrepid press secretary, the ban is “discriminatory,” “bullying,” and… wait for it… “horrific.” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has spoken in support of the legislation, was expected to sign the bill into law.

In a bit of another “flipped script” moment, which I also hit on Thursday, an assistant principal in Mississippi was promptly fired for reading a children’s book titled “I Need a New Butt!” to a group of kids — after being told by the school’s principal to, yeah, read the kids a book.

To suggest the book is mainstream and innocent is an understatement. As promoted by Amazon.com:

“A silly story that will cause boys and girls to giggle from beginning to end!” — Norman Public Schools

A young boy suddenly notices a big problem — his butt has a huge crack! So he sets off to find a new one. Will he choose an armor-plated butt? A rocket butt? A robot butt? Find out in this quirky tale of a tail, which features hilarious rhymes and delightful illustrations. Children and parents will love this book — no ifs, ands, or butts about it!

“I can assure you right now that your kids will love this book. They will giggle, they will laugh, and they will want this book to be read over and over again because it is just plain silly and funny … the perfect kid-combo.” — Storywraps

Yet? In celebration of Pride Month, a Virginia library invited babies and toddlers to “Drag StoryBook Hour.”

While we’re at it, let’s go to church. From a pastor claiming Christ “transgenders himself” in the Bible to a church in North Carolina hosting a drag show to protest a ban on same-sex marriage to Chicago church hosting “Drag Queen Prayer Time for Children,” examples abound.

And while the players and messages change, the song remains the same. To objective remains the same. The radical left is hellbent on wresting from parents across America the development, education (indoctrination), and social and racial constructs embraced by their children.

This is the point where people in my situation say stuff like “I’m glad our kids are grown and have successful careers, so I won’t have to worry about them growing up in an ever-changing America that is insidiously changing — being purposely changed — before our eyes.

But I do worry. I do have concerns. (See: “grandkids.”)

For the youth of America, we must stop the madness.
