Tone-Deaf CNN Host Says No News Networks Exist to Bash Trump; Tucker Carlson and Greg Gutfeld Beg to Differ

On today’s episode of “The Most Trusted Name in News,” Fox News hosts Tucker Carlson and Greg Gutfeld team up to completely destroy tone-deaf CNN host Brian Stelter and his ridiculous assertion that no news networks exist to tear down Donald Trump.

Stelter’s reality-defying assertion was beyond nonsensical, of course, given that the TDS-riddled host of “Reliable Sources” works for, as Gutfeld put it, the “hood ornament” of Trump-bashing networks.

First up, here’s Stelter, along with a few like-minded partisan guests.

After one guest said “They (Fox News) sharpened their teeth on Bill Clinton; this has been the way they’ve built audiences for three decades,” Stelter “shockingly” agreed, saying “and it’s getting more severe,” before turning to a second guest and asking:

“When you see entire media companies essentially exist to tear down Joe Biden, is there an equivalent of that on the left, tearing down Trump?”

As to be expected, that guest promptly stepped on the same rake that Stelter and the other guest had already stepped on.

“There really isn’t. It’s really a diet of this type of information that a lot of these voters are getting; a lot of voters that I talk to, when I interview them I do hear them saying a lot of the talking points that sound very familiar to some of these shows that I try to listen to […] you know this is the bias they’re on […].

“Talking points”? Gimme a break.

As my RedState colleague Sister Toldjah reported earlier, Stelter suffered a serious meltdown last night, after Carlson ripped him, prior to bringing on Gutfeld in the final segment of his show.

Show of hands — how many of you have heard this tired old baseless charge from low-information CNN watcher after low-information CNN watcher: “Fox Lies!”? Yeah, me too. (See: “talking point.”)

Have you ever messed with any of “those people”? By pretending to agree with them? I have — and it usually goes something like this:

CNN drone: “Fox lies!”

Me: “Yeah, I know. Can you give me an example?

CNN drone: “They lie all the time — about everything!”

Me: “Yeah, they sure do. But can you give me just one specific — just one thing Fox News lies about?”

If you’ve played this hamster-in-the-wheel game, you know how it ends. If you continue, the Fox News hater ends up getting mad, swearing at you, unfriending you on social media, or storming off in a huff — muttering obscenities as they go on their bitter little way.

During the final segment of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Gutfeld went off on Stelter, as only Gutfeld can go off on someone — with Carlson rightly laughing at Gutfeld’s truth along the way.

“Oh, to be this dumb. So, so, wait, there’s no anti-Trump network? Wow, even CNN admits nobody watches CNN. But look, even if you despise Trump, you’ve got to admit this deception dares you to laugh in its face. There isn’t an anti-Trump media company?

“Hell, there might be two dozen with CNN leading the ‘hair on fire pack.’ The only reason every Trump’s book goes to number one is because it has two cable networks doing its P.R., which explains why two recent massive surveys say media is overwhelmingly biased and cannot be trusted.”

Gutfeld was just warming up.

“If only their delusional thinking were relegated to the silly world of politics or Brian Stelter’s head, but it’s not. The same people who deny this reality deny a lot of far uglier facts: Rising murder rates, shootings, looting, property destruction, attacks on the elderly, killing by released felons, attacks on free speech, riots described as ‘peaceful protests.”

Then the perfect example.

“Remember how the media pretended how the media pretended that ‘defunding the police’ was a reasonable ask? For this to succeed, they had to bury reality, like Gallup surveys showing that over 80% of blacks and Hispanics want the same amount or more police. Funny how the white anchors never bring that stuff up.”

Gutfeld was right about Gallup.

In poll results published last week, Gallup said that while Black Americans are more likely than “most other groups” to “see police locally,” 81 percent of Blacks want police to spend the same amount of time — or more — in their respective neighborhoods.

Gallup also said the percentage of Blacks who want the police to spend more time in their area — 61 percent — is similar to the 67% of all U.S. adults preferring the status quo, including 71% of White Americans.

Gutfeld ended his observations by telling Carlson networks like CNN and MSNBC, along with their left-leaning comrades in print media, must work together with the Left as a whole in order to exist.

“But in order for a left-wing view of the world to exist, you must pretend none of that other bad stuff exists, meaning the consequences of left-wing action and democratic leader inaction. You can think a media and the left working together to preserve their power.”

Watch:

The bottom line:

Out-of-touch observations by the likes of CNN’s Brian Stelter and his guests that defy reality say far more about them and the left-wing bubble in which they exist than about Fox News, its viewers, or Donald Trump.

To be fair (and balanced), political talk show hosts like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Jessie Watters are of course biased in favor of all things Donald Trump. They rightly admit it.

But to suggest that for every Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, or Jesse Watters, CNN doesn’t have a Trump-loathing Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, or Brian Stelter, is to deny reality.

Why, it’s downright CNN — AKA: “The Most Trusted Name in News.”
