Someone posted here on RS that Obama should ‘run by himself’. While that might be the best solution, the media has actually published a list of qualifications straight from the burning bush.
The New York Times describes Obama’s [search] (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/30/us/politics/30veep.html?_r=1&ref=politics&oref=slogin) for a VP as a ‘quest’ involving a small army of researchers looking into past histories. While this generally is a wise tactic, how would the skeletons of the VP would get noticed given the valley of dry bones that the presidential candidate has produced thus far (assuming that he still will be the nominee after the DNC)?
Another qualification that Obama wanted in his VP according to Newsmax was ‘somebody with independence, who’s willing to tell me where he thinks or she thinks I’m wrong,” and someone who is loyal.
Good thinking if you want to avoid the Eagleton syndrome, but an interesting choice of words from someone who has mastered the use of the Jedi-Mind Trick on the MSM and worshipful throngs. Jabba the Hutt or a Toydarian would work, but then there’s the past history issues.
Obama also wants someone that has an ‘area of expertise’ to advise him and lend him ‘credibility’. Unfortunately, that combination will only yield ‘crudibility’ (according to Scott Adam’s Dilbert) for the campaign. Even worse for the VP, if Obama loses, he or she will have the political equivalent of the Black Plague (a good thing for the rest of us?). Therefore, how will any self-respecting politically astute Congressman or governor choose to associate with the Second Coming?
Mike S. Adams at Onenewsnow.com made an interesting note in his blog that Julia Rosemann of the NC state senate could be a potential running mate. She would be the perfect (or should I say fitting) candidate, in my opinion, because not only would she be at the same level of Obama (in scandals, not divine status), but “Republicans must know that it would be hard to beat a ticket with a black man, a woman, and a lesbian,” which would warm the hearts of the Left that Obama has thrown under the bus in his quest for the center.
