I was able recently to join a bunch of like-minded Christians to seriously pray for America. For an extended length of time. It was so refreshing and encouraging to be with others who see all the same discouraging and destructive forces that we all see and battle every day. Forces that seem to be overwhelming and suffocating our nation.
Don’t forget the power that is in prayer. Scripture says that the faithful, fervent prayers of righteous men avails much.
I am reminded of those scriptures in Jeremiah where the Lord was telling him that he was being called to be a prophet over the nations and kingdoms of that day:
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
9 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
Even though things look hopeless and impossible, before America can be rebuilt and restored, the corruption must be rooted out, pulled down, destroyed and thrown down. It seems slow, but we really are witnessing old structures being torn down. Hold onto God and He will protect you and keep you through it all.
