I’m running really late this morning, so, in order to get an open thread up, I will keep this really brief for now and may come back to develop this theme throughout the day.
I have gone through very painful experiences in my life. Ones that seemed pointless and designed for maximum pain and suffering. At the time, they made no sense and I could not see anything good coming out of them. But, in hindsight, I grew leaps and bounds in ways that I never would have without the major crises. And as time passed, it became clear that the negative experiences were actually blessings in disguise.
I have been wondering if that same principle can be applied to nations. Could this dark time in America’s history turn out to be a blessing in disguise? Would love to hear your thoughts.
Have a great weekend.

On a smaller scale, we are witnessing a negative occurrence turn into a blessing in disguise here at RedState today. In response to Senator Portman’s unfortunate announcement that he has changed his position on same-sex marriage, kipling was able to give a comprehensive rebuttal using the infallible, unchangeable Word of God as the final authority on the matter. And that is truly a blessing.
