I did not watch the President’s State of the Union address last night. I am more than tired of being preached at, talked down to and manipulated with double-speak. Obama sees his key strength as a community “organizer” so, more than any modern-day president, he uses the television nearly every day to spew his propaganda at us. I generally think that Obama’s words are nothing more than fleeting promises rooted in liberal fantasies. In short, I don’t believe or trust in a word he says so why punish myself or waste my time listening to him drone condescendingly on and on?
I already know what Obama is going to say and do. He is a one-trick pony. Those who think he will come to his senses, consider his legacy and govern from the middle for his second term are dreaming. Big government, making the wealthy pay their fair share, and imposing the federal government into every area of our lives is his entire focus and end-game. He has bought into progressivism hook, line and sinker. And he has spent his whole life honing the ability to convince Americans why socialism and government control is good for us and why we should agree with him.
In short, Obama is a con man. He lives in a fantasy world and sees his power as impervious. Those of us who can see clearly and understand Constitutional governance, see him as constantly trying to pound a square peg into a round hole. It doesn’t fit, will never fit, and yet he keeps on pounding. And we all have headaches.
Sorry to be so negative. I’m sure I have lots of company. I am not looking forward to four more years of this but, as I’ve said many times before, I think our Republic is strong enough to thwart Obama’s attempts to fundamentally change America. And for that I am grateful.
Needing encouragement, I pulled these scriptures from Lamentations this morning:
This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is because of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore I will I hope in Him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him. Lamentations 3: 21-25
