For We Wrestle Not Against Flesh and Blood...

As we continue on in the war to save America, it is time for the Christians to regroup and keep in mind what the Bible teaches us about who and what is behind the warfare we are engaged in.

Many have been lulled into a stupor and have forgotten that Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection was not the end of the war…just a huge and crucial victory for mankind enabling us to assist God in His future and final ultimate victory of good over evil.

Do you ever feel like we are just whacking at the leaves, branches and stubble but are never getting to the root of the problems in our nation? In a sense, this is true. This diary is a reminder to “be strong in the Lord and the power of His might,” and to “put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,” because…

We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:10-12

Don’t be afraid to call a spade a spade…Satan is still alive and at work in this world and that is the only explanation for the horror that occurred in Connecticut on Friday. Yes, he used a human vessel to accomplish his diabolical purposes, but he was the prime culprit behind the inexplicable evil that transpired.

We spend too much time arguing with each other over the root of the problems in our nation and not enough time remembering the scriptures I just quoted.

Stay strong in the Lord and in the power of His might — through much prayer and sometimes fasting, too. Know that “the faithful, fervent prayers of righteous men and women avails much.” And remember that the love of God is more powerful than the evil of Satan. Satan was completely defeated at the cross. Focus on becoming like Christ. Don’t return evil for evil, but overcome evil with good. And remember that Jesus is coming back again and we will win the final battle against Satan — with Jesus leading us triumphantly in battle.

I know it sounds wimpy sometimes, but love is the most powerful force in the universe. Use it to disarm as many enemies as possible in the battles ahead. Pray for wisdom and unity in the body of Christ. Be blessed, all my brothers and sisters. We are all in God’s army. Stay close to Him and He will lead us to ultimate victory.
