TW Shannon and James Lankford Debate

Edit: For anyone who is interested, I’ve pasted the links to the debate from last night (06/18/2014) between TW and Lankford. I do not know why it is in 4 parts. I tried to embed the video, but it did not work for me. Sorry about that.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am voting for TW Shannon. James Lankford has been a huge disappointment. There is one point that rubbed me the wrong way and it is, I believe, in the third segment. The issue of experience was brought up and Lankford went on and on about how he had the experience and knowledge of how to get things done in Washington because he had spent time in congress before moving on to the senate (if he wins). Well Mr. Lankford, you had absolutely ZERO experience in politics before being elected the first time other than as a voter. We voted you to a win in spite of that, but you have ended up being a “C+” conservative at best (averaging scores). Speaker Shannon has much more experience, having been elected to office in 2006, then rising in the ranks to becoming Speaker of the House in January 2013. He then resigned the speakership (in accordance with Oklahoma law) in order to run for the U.S. Senate. Mr.Lankford, you are both fine, upstanding men who have done much for your community and state. However, Speaker Shannon is more of a warrior for the conservative cause and unafraid to take on whomever he must to shed light on what is wrong in Washington. He does not want to go along to get along or vote for something that harms our country in order to ‘live to fight another day’. The fight, sir, is now. Not tomorrow, not next week, nor next month or the next year. It is now and if you can’t do what it takes, no matter what, then you need to move out of the way.
