Congress has a choice, pass a spending bill to keep the government open past the end of the month that includes the $500 million in annual funding that goes to Planned Parenthood, or pass one that doesn’t give the baby butchering abortion provider one red cent.
President Obama, who as an Illinois state Senator voted to protect infanticide, has vowed to veto any legislation that defunds Planned Parenthood, this despite the 10 videos that show Planned Parenthood cutting babies to pieces for their organs, which they sell. Planned Parenthood has committed numerous violations of federal and state law; altering the method of an abortion so as to get the babies organs, selling those organs for profit, and worst infanticide, cutting open and harvesting the organs of a late term baby that possibly survived the abortion.
Conservatives in the House and Senate and demanding that Speaker Boehner and [mc_name name=’Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’M000355′ ] defund Planned Parenthood in any funding measure and call Obama’s bluff on any veto threat; Obama has only made 4 vetoes in his entire 7 years in office.
McConnell is dead set against this, so to is House leadership, they fear a possible partial government shutdown like the one in October of 2013 begun by [mc_name name=’Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’C001098′ ]. That shutdown was so awful for Republicans, they won the majority in the Senate and padded their lead in the House.
You can add congressman Adam Kinzinger to that group opposed to stopping the flow of taxpayer dollars to an outfit Kinzinger himself has compared to the Nazis.
From the Ottawa Times:
On another issue, the House of Representatives is expected to vote this week on defunding Planned Parenthood. The national organization, which has a clinic in Ottawa, has been criticized since videos surfaced of its officials discussing the sale of tissue from aborted fetuses.
Kinzinger has called what appeared in the videos “barbaric.”
“I mean it’s Nazi Germany,” he told Rockford radio station WROK recently. “You think of the doctors in the concentration camps experimenting on their victims. It’s kind of reminiscent of that.”
At the same time, he told The Times, the federal government should not shut down over the Planned Parenthood controversy. Some Republicans have suggested doing just that until they are successful in defunding the organization.
What a pathetic coward.
Kinzinger loves to talk about how pro-life he is(his support of traditional marriage having gone down the memory hole), but when given a perfect opportunity to do something positive he and the rest of the GOP establishment, John Kasich included, grab their ankles and surrender before the fight let alone the battle has even begun.
Can we in the 16th congressional district please have a different, better representative.
I mean seriously who does a public event with all of twenty hand selected people with little public notice, and from past experience I know, Kinzinger doesn’t really answer questions, and he’s only around for 20-30 minutes.
