Illinois Republican congressman Adam Kinzinger, an Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran and Air National Guard pilot, was on Fox New’s today to talk about the latest developments regarding ISIS and its takeover of Iraq.
Fox host Martha MacCallum started off the interview by saying that because of Kinzinger’s veteran status he was “Well qualified to talk about how to win there(Iraq).”
This is absolutely incredulous.
Yes Adam Kinzinger is an Air Force veteran and served with honor in warzones. However, strategy, being on the front lines, actually fighting the enemy is something Adam Kinzinger knows nothing about.
You see while Adam was above the skies of Iraq and Afghanistan he was in the cockpit of refueling tankers and recon planes; support aircraft.
Here is some old campaign related footage of Adam from 2010 talking about his service confirming his piloting of tankers.
To think that this Fox info babe thinks that that makes Kinzinger well qualified to talk about how to deal with ISIS and solve the Iraq enigma is mind numbing.
An infantryman like Lt. Col. Allen West, a former congressman from Florida, has more business talking about how to fight ISIS and fix Iraq, if such a thing is possible, than Kinzinger.
The same could be said of several other Iraq war veterans from Illinois including Col. Larry Kaifesh(USMC), and Paul Schimpf. Schimpf the 2014 GOP nominee for Attorney General as a JAG officer was the lead American lawyer who helped the Iraqis try and convict Saddam. Kaifesh, the 2014 GOP challenger to congresswoman Tammy Duchworth, did 5 tours in Iraq and Afghanastan as a Marine infantry officer.
The reason Martha called Kinzinger well qualified to talk about Iraq and ISIS is because Kinzinger spews the foreign policy stances and views of [mc_name name=’Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’M000303′ ] and [mc_name name=’Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’G000359′ ](whose delusion of running for President I still refuse to take part in) and is ultra aggressive with what should be done about ISIS and Iraq and Syria. Plus Fox’s bookers have him on practically every other day so they’ve kind of gotta say that to justify having him on.
