“The White House foreign policy is either incompetent or delusional.” As far as I can tell, that pretty much summarizes the current state of the discussion. Why does President Obama seem determined to alienate our friends and cozy up to our enemies? Let me advance two alternative hypotheses about Obama foreign policy motives.
Hypothesis 1: Putin Has Something On Obama
Hillary Clinton’s e-mail server was almost certainly hacked. Not only was the Windows Server version out of date, but a crucial security patch was missing. Was Secretary Clinton’s server more secure than, say, the student records systems at Harvard, Columbia, and/or Occidental? As we know, President Obama has spent $3 million protecting his college records. However, I suspect Russian and Chinese hackers did not respect his request for privacy. It’s likely that there has been at least one breach. But, hey, that just means the U.S. president is being blackmailed.
Hypothesis 2: Obama Knows Exactly What He’s Doing
Valerie Jarrett was born in Iran. The source(s) of funding for Mr. Obama’s high-priced education remain mysterious. While I would rather not believe it, there is some chance that Mr. Obama and Ms. Jarrett are deliberately tilting the world’s power structure toward Russia and Iran.
Do they care about one of these bad actors launching a nuclear weapon? I only wish I knew. But, unless the White House is completely insulated from reality, they have to know that’s a possibility. I’m not going to go down that particular rabbit hole.
