Would there be a Senate candidate Hillary Clinton if it were not for her cheating husband humiliating her and Chelsea in front of the entire world with his college frat boy antics fooling around with unattractive interns after hours in the White House? Would there be a Senator Hillary Clinton of New York had it not been for Rick Lazio being a jerk during a debate in which he violated every law written and unwritten concerning personal space and male-female condescension? Would Hillary Clinton not have lasted as long as she was expected to had then candidate Barack Obama not dismissed her in their debate when he said quote, “You’re likable enough”? That very quote bought Mrs. Clinton months of political capital to which she well spent on late season victories during the Democrat primary in 2007. She was able to turn Mr. Obama into an elitist snob who didn’t understand the blue collar folks in Kentucky, West Virginia, and elsewhere outside the gimme states Democrats are almost always expected to win. It was so effective in fact those voters forgot just how elitist and aloof Hillary Clinton can seem at times. While I wouldn’t necessarily put her up there with the Obamas in terms of your typical well to do progressive arrogant elitist, she’s no down home Amy that’s for sure. She’s not as connected to the middle class as folks in the media like to portray.
Hillary Clinton’s entire political career, even before she officially became a politician has been built on the sympathy of others who in turn rally behind her. Imagine if you will the Clinton years minus the booming economy and the sex scandal, the perjury charges, and the impeachment. Hillary would be known solely for her failure to implement universal health care aka “Hillarycare”. One cannot build a future in politics on a failed agenda. I’ve asked this question before: What exactly would she run on in 2016 should she decide to run for president? Benghazi? The Clinton economy? Which she had nothing to do with other than being the First Lady at the time her husband did everything the Republican controlled Congress told him to do. If she wants to run on the Obama economy she’s got no ground to gain there either. She’s never been a governor, she’s never been the chief lawmaker behind a profoundly important piece of legislation; what exactly has this woman done?
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that her entire career in politics has been one built on being the convenient victim of male bad behavior, and her time as Secretary of State has been the biggest hype job by the media since JaMarcus Russell being touted by as the undeniable #1 overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft. Go back and listen to all the experts in the media hype JeMarcus Russell. Didn’t matter that he only started one year in college, his junior year, somehow he was the best player in a draft that included such players as Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson, Patrick Willis, Marshawn Lynch, and Sydney Rice.
It’s the same thing with Hillary Clinton. She’s being hyped as this inevitable candidate who will clear the field and she can’t be beat, she’s the best candidate in the history of presidential campaigns, and yet 2016 might give us Bobby Jindal, Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, and a host of others; on both sides quite frankly.
You mean she has more pluses and fewer minuses than any other potential candidate? Her one plus, if you can call it that was a minus because her husband was creeping when he was president, got caught, and she managed to use that as a springboard for her own political career. Can I tell the truth?
Take away that entire situation, I mean imagine if you will the Monica Lewinsky scandal never happened. Where would Hillary Clinton be today? Rarely do I agree with Chris Matthews but he was right in 2008 when he said this quote:
“Let’s not forget, and I’ll be brutal, the reason she’s a US Senator, the reason she’s a candidate for President, the reason she may be a front runner, is that her husband messed around.
That’s how she got to be a Senator from New York. We keep forgetting it. She didn’t win it on her merit, she won because everybody felt, “My God, this woman stood up under humiliation, right? That’s what happened! That’s how it happened.”
Look like I said I don’t agree with Chris Matthews on much of anything but the man was dead on target right here. I know he caught heck for it but I mean look when you know the truth about a situation to heck with those unwilling to accept what they too know is the truth about the same situation.
But it’s funny though, Chris Matthews led the anti-Hillary army back in 2008 but now all the sudden he’s become the biggest Hillary Clinton groupie in the world.
A career built on sympathy is one not credible for the White House. Mrs. Clinton, what exactly makes you qualified?
Sincerely,
