This news has been all over the place today. Yesterday, [mc_name name=’Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’C001098′ ] said he had a major political announcement he would give from Liberty University tomorrow. There was speculation at several sites and there was word from Politico.com that he was definitely in.
Much will be written about him tomorrow but let’s jump the gun RedStaters. I appreciate there are those who wish for a sitting Governor. Or someone who was a Governor. Or maybe someone who ran for Governor. But this isn’t about Governors. This is about the ONE person who can right this left leaning ship and get it back on an even keel.
If you haven’t gone to many of the other sites you may have missed his plan. Whereas other candidates “hope” or worse “expect” to grab conservative votes, they actually lay out their plans to grab the middle. They figure on getting the moderates and assume the Conservative, Libertarian and other disenfranchised right will fall in line. And we have. We have bought into it, hook line and sinker. But not this time.
“A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of Men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight!” (Aragorn, Lord of the Rings, Return of the King)
Ok, I know he’s not a king and we don’t need a king. BUT we do need all on the right and I mean conservative right to come together and it will take courage in the face of the establishment and the pundits and the naysayers who say things like ‘he’s not electable”. It will take courage. And we need to bring it.
Along with about $50 million. That’s the ante in this first round.
