Fresh off a book signing event at Borders here in Tampa that had lines of book byers circling and weaving through the store and many waiting outside http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/21/glenn-beck-i-am-developing-a-100-year-plan/, Glenn Beck took off for The Villages to unveil his “plan”, or at least the first part of it. I don’t know what Beck’s big plan will be once we get to Washington, but Beck’s strategy to educate those of us who want to do something–anything–to slow this careening freight train is a good one. We are sadly at the mercy of a 60-40 Democrat advantage in the Senate and we are outnumbered in the House and nothing can turn that tide until 2010. This state of affairs has me trying to get my boss to take on Kathy Castor in Tampa and I hope others everywhere are thinking along those same lines in other districts. We’ve got to take these guys on regardless of the archaic notion of a “safe seat.” I say this because I talked to one of the Republican kingpins in this area and he said she is “unbeatable.” Well we can’t give up so easily. To let a Pelosi liberal off without a dress-down that would come from a Republican challenger is unthinkable. For now, I’ve just about “melted” as many phones as I can. It’s time for some hard work at taking back Washington in 2010. This will be our beach head. From there, on to 2012.
