As most of you know by now, Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Tx) is not going to seek re-election in 2012. We all kind of saw this coming last year when Perry smashed Hutchison and Medina during the primary. The question now is, who is going to step up and become the GOP front runner? I mean, this could potentially open the door for Bill White (former mayor of Houston) to take the seat which would be a disaster if history gives us a hint on how he would govern.
David Dewhurst is obviously a person of interest to look at for this senate seat. He has a good conservative record here in Texas and would probably serve the state of Texas well. I have a different candidate in mind.
Glenn Addison. He is a conservative Christian who was born in Pasadena, Tx in 1962. His family moved to Channelview and later on, to Magnolia where he would graduate high school. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Abilene Christian University in 1983. Mr. Addison has a wonderful family whom I know personally. Since his time at Abilene Christian, he has been a self-employed man. In 1987, he built his own independent insurance agency and in 2002, he decided that he wanted to help families in their time of need in the funeral business. He owns two funeral homes who hold themselves to the highest of standards. Glenn has also served his community as a member of the Magnolia School Board since 1997 and as president for 6 of those years.
I urge each and everyone of you to take a look at him and give him a chance. He is not a career politician, he is like every one of us who wants only the best for the American people.
