Arkansas businessman Curtis Coleman announced his candidacy for Senate. He was a former adviser to Mike Huckabee.
I’m still researching Curtis Coleman and I am not a big fan of Mike Huckabee. I don’t care much. I am still thankful that someone stepped up to the plate before the fall legislative session. The free ride for Blanche Lincoln stops now.
Never underestimate the power of local politics. Without competition, Blanche Lincoln will do the Blue Dog dance before she votes the party line, but she will vote the party line. Now she has a credible threat that will hold her accountable to the people she represents and the people that she represents happen to be conservative.
What will it be Senator Lincoln? Betrayal of your constituents and ignominious defeat or will you muster the strength to tell Rahm and Reid to get lost, be the voice of the Arkansas people, and maybe, just maybe, give yourself a shot at redemption in 2010.
This is not any kind of endorsement. I hardly know the man, but his stance on important issues looks good and I do know that passing card check, cap and tax and universal health care just got a little tougher. The free rides for Democrats in conservative states must stop.
