Remembering The Days Of A Constitutional Republic

June 25th, 1952 President Truman vetoed the McCarran-Walter Act, a Democrat sponsored bill to tighten up America’s lose immigration policy. Truman’s veto was overridden in the House June 26th and the Senate June 27th. Speaking from the Well of the Senate March 2, 1953, McCarran said;

“I believe that this nation is the last hope of Western civilization and if this oasis of the world shall be overrun, then the last flickering light of humanity will be extinguished. I take no issue with those who would praise the contributions which have been made to our society by people of many races, of varied creeds and colors. However, we have in the United States today hard-core, indigestible blocs which have not become integrated into the American way of life, but which, on the contrary are its deadly enemies.”

That snapshot of history has two lessens for us,

First. The primary responsibility of government is to provide for the common defense. This appears to be lost as it relates to the actions of our President and the inaction of Congress. We face an enemy that has sworn itself to a Caliphate. If you look at the historic timeline of Islamic caliphates, you’ll be hard pressed to identify one that lasted less than 200 years. Many historians of Islamic history believe this Caliphate began in 2014.

To enter this war in a state of denial will only ensure the destruction of our Republic. So why does our President walk in denial of an enemy that has sworn itself to our destruction? Tashfeen Malik along with her husband took the lives of 14 people this week. She was vetted by our Pakistan embassy, the NSA and FBI. In spite of all those layers of scrutiny they still missed the bogus address she listed on her K-1 Fiancée Visa. To think the NSA can vet 65,000 people that we have no way of verifying a country of origin is insane.

Second, Since the beginning of our Republic Democrats, Federalists, Wigs or Republicans understood that a free people will always be the focus of destruction by tyrants. For that reason, our Founders charged both the Legislative and Executive branch with protecting us. It didn’t matter that Truman wanted to allow unchecked immigration in 1952. He had a Constitution to restrain him and a Congress to hold him accountable. Today, Obama refuses to obey the constitution and Congress refuses to hold him accountable. What Truman tried to do through an unsuccessful Veto, Barak Obama does with an unconstitutional executive order.

We were told three years ago by [mc_name name=’Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’B000755′ ] and [mc_name name=’Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’B000589′ ], “Give us the Senate and we’ll stop this President.” Now they’re telling us our expectations are too high and they can’t do anything other than roll over and play dead until they also have the White House. Well, what if we don’t win the White House in 2016. Will Congress continue to give this administration whatever it wants without putting up a fight? Islamic Fundamentalists have declared war on America and our way of life.

It’s time Congress steps up and fight this President on behalf of We The People.  No more feel good legislation that does nothing more than attempt to deceive us in to believing that you’re doing something when you’re not. Stand up to this President, Say No and hold the line.
