Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont recently grilled Russell Vought, President Trump’s nominee for deputy OMB director, over his Christian belief that only followers of Jesus go to heaven.

Sanders berated Vought as bigoted, stated that his views were anti-American, and that he would not vote for Vought because of it.

It is Bernie Sanders who is the bigot and anti-American. He is a man who believes that Christians, the people who built this country, are not qualified to hold governmental positions.

Article Six of the Constitution provides that “…no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”

A harsh response is needed in order to ensure that anti-Christian bigotry in the federal government does not continue to become commonplace.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell needs to take disciplinary action by holding a vote to censure (condemn/denounce) Sanders.
