Barack Obama’s pill comment during a recent healthcare speech, just solidified for me the surreal feel of the time we live in.
“If there’s a blue pill and a red pill, and the blue pill is half the price of the red pill . . . . . . . . . . . ”
Where have I heard this pill reference before? The 1999 classic film, The Matrix, is the answer. In the movie the blue pill represents those who exist in the illusionary world of the Matrix; while the red pill people those who are freed from the Matrix and live in reality. Perhaps, President Obama’s plans for all Americans do indeed dictate that we all swallow the little blue pill and surrender our freedoms. And, more interestingly, is Barry a fan of this cult film or just happened to stumble on to this stunning double entendre?
As we are witnessing during Townhall Meetings around the nation, Americans are finding the little blue pill hard to swallow. My advice . . . . . shake the blue pill trance, push aside the red pill, too, because neither is likely to increase performance or correct governmental dysfunction.
