For You, Average American, Integrity is a Low Priority

If you lean liberal, how important is it to you to be represented by an liberal with integrity–someone whose actions actually reflect their words? If you are the average lean-liberal American, integrity is clearly not a top priority. You prefer Hillary.

If you lean conservative, how important is it to you to be represented by a conservative with integrity–someone whose actions actually reflect their words? If you are the average lean-conservative American, integrity is clearly not a top priority. You prefer Trump.

Moderate? Independent? Doesn’t matter. Integrity in the leader of the free world is not your top thing. Polls tell me that you know these people are as dishonest as they come, but you vote for them anyway. Given the options of Martin Luther King Jr. and a George Washington, you pine for Bernie Madoff or Kenneth Lay. What is you see in your preferred candidate? I don’t know, but it must be really good to trump the clear understanding you have that their actions never match their words. Will your president actually do what they promise to do? You don’t know, but that really doesn’t matter to you. You think other things are more important.

For the last eight years I naively thought Americans were getting angry with our government leaders’ continual duplicity and deception. I was wrong.

I hope you are right.
