The knee jerk reactions to the horror in San Bernadino were quite predictable. Gun control, gun control and more gun control. While I do believe there should be strictly enforced regulations with respect to acquiring firearms. gun control will not end this madness. Prohibition did not stop people from drinking and the war on drugs has been an expensive and colossal bust (you’ll pardon the expression). If people want something badly enough and are willing to pay for it, and other people are willing to take the risks of supplying what is wanted, then no amount of regulations will work.
Even if we were to ban the sale of all military type assault rifles today, people would find a way to get them. Frustrating, but putting more laws on the the books won’t solve the problem.
