Cruz's Checkmate and Mic Drop

Folks, what Ted Cruz did last night was both profoundly simple and unbelievably brilliant. Allow me to put his endorsement in unassailable terms:

(Excerpted from Cruz’s speech)

We deserve leaders who stand for principle. Unite us all behind shared values. Cast aside anger for love. That is the standard we should expect, from everybody.

And to those listening, please, don’t stay home in November. Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution.

(The presidential oath of office, excerpted from Article II, section 1 of the United States Constitution)

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Either Cruz fulfilled his pledge directly, or you acknowledge your intent to support a man literally, legally, and morally unqualified to be President and who fully intends to break his oath.

That, my friends, is about as epic as it gets!
