I really, truly don’t like saying this, Save Jerseyans. He’s my president, too. Even when our chief executives are wrong or morally inappropriate, we still like to think their intentions are originating from a pure place. This is probably the reason why so many Americans are reluctant to ponder Barack Obama’s numerous and disturbing past affiliations. They don’t want to believe it. It’s willful blindness at it’s most destructive.
Unfortunately, there’s no avoiding reality this time even if we’d like to: Barack Obama is a barefaced liar! The President claims to want lower gas prices in 2012, yet
both he and his energy secretary are on record supporting higher gas price. This characterization isn’t representative of hyper-partisan spin or opportunistic, out-of-context manipulation on my part; just the facts!
Nothing more, nothing less…
“I’m going to keep doing everything I can to help you save money on gas, both right now and in the future.”
– President Barack Obama, Weekly Radio Address 03/11/12
A lovely sentiment. We’d like to think he means it; or, at the very least, that he is seriously determined to avoid actions capable of negatively impacting energy prices. HIS so-called “recovery” is on the line.
Amazingly, there’s 0% genuine feeling behind those otherwise appealing words…
SEN. BARACK OBAMA: “Well, I think that we have been slow to move in a better direction when it comes to energy usage. And the president, frankly, hasn’t had an energy policy. And as a consequence, we’ve been consuming energy as if it’s infinite. We now know that our demand is badly outstripping supply with China and India growing as rapidly as they are. So…”
HARWOOD: “So could these high prices help us?”
SEN. BARACK OBAMA: “I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment. The fact that this is such a shock to American pocketbooks is not a good thing. But if we take some steps right now to help people make the adjustment, first of all by putting more money into their pockets, but also by encouraging the market to adapt to these new circumstances more quickly, particularly US automakers, then I think ultimately, we can come out o f this stronger and have a more efficient energy policy than we do right now.”
– Senator Barack Obama, Interview on CNBC, 06/10/08
Can there be any doubt what he’s trying to do, Save Jerseyans?
President Obama isn’t “doing everything” to lower gas prices. It’s a lie. His own Energy Secretary Steven Chu was clear enough on that topic.
Obama and his Democrat-controlled Senate are “doing everything” to prevent expanded offshore drilling and the issuance of new permits. They actually believe higher gas prices will force Americans to switch to non-traditional “green” energy sources and abandon fossil fuels overnight. It’s pure fantasy! And even most mainstream environmentalists acknowledge the shortcomings of solar power, wind farms, algae, etc., as a present solution because the technology isn’t there yet (if ever); even they favor exploitation of natural gas, a resource which we have in abundance, in conjunction with expanded use of renewable energy.
It’s time for President Obama to stop lying to the American people and either (1) own up to his true intentions or (2) reverse course and take affirmative steps towards energy independence. There’s no way to lower energy prices NOW without expanded drilling, Save Jerseyans, and don’t believe him when he says it’s not a realistic plan. That’s simply not debatable.
Drilling is as close to a panacea for our energy crisis as any other solution real or imagined. Right now, the President’s policies are preventing approximately 2,000,000 barrels of American-produced oil from buoying our economy. Oil is like any other commodity sensitive to the forces of supply, demand and speculation; an announcement by President Obama today that he intends to turn America into the world’s leading energy producer will yield immediate downward pressure on prices at the pump.
The problem: can you get a liar to stop lying? To us AND to himself? And then reverse course before the economy snaps under the pressure?
Or is the only solution to wait for regime change? Someone who isn’t a victim of extreme self-delusion?
And, finally, how do we get the American people to admit to themselves that they’re being lied to?
If you can answer that last one, Save Jerseyans, the RNC and Governor Romney’s campaign would LOVE to speak with you…
