Who Dares To Be The Next Democrat Defection on Obamacare Repeal?

The campaign to repeal Obamacare took a crucial step forward yesterday.

Gene Taylor of Mississippi signed Discharge Petition #11 to force a vote on an outright repeal of Obamacare. He is the first of the 34 Democrats who voted against Obamacare to break ranks with Nancy Pelosi and support repeal.

His Democrat colleagues have made a host of arguments explaining away their unwillingness to add their name to the discharge petition.

Repeal is impossible! It’s too hard! It won’t happen quickly! There are some good things in the law that we need to keep! It’s a gimmick! It sends the wrong message!

All of this is blather—the lines of politicians carefully crafted to confuse and ignore the American people. Gene Taylor was smart enough to know that these arguments ring hollow with voters and broke with his party.

Self-proclaimed “independent” Democrats are falling all over themselves trying to separate themselves from Nancy Pelosi, but on something as central as Obamacare, which 34 of them opposed, only one Democrat is willing to choose principle over party.

Will Travis Childers, Taylor’s home state colleague, prove his independence and sign the petition? Will Bobby Bright in nearby Alabama who made national news with his comments about Pelosi? Below the fold is the list of Democrats who voted against Obamacare but will not back its repeal.

Call their office and ask them: Democrat Gene Taylor showed his independence from Nancy Pelosi and signed Discharge Petition #11 to repeal Obamacare—why won’t you?
