Are the Washington Republicans bad at Politics or what?

Politics: the practice of influencing other people through debate or conflict.

It’s not about Senate procedures. It’s not about the stock market. It’s not about what the New York Times prints.

It’s about character. It’s about principles. It’s about love of country. It’s about fighting for what you believe in. It’s about leading other against the forces seeking to destroy the nation.

The greatest politics of all time was:

“We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

Only perhaps 40% of the people supported this principled position of these first American Republicans when written, just like about 40% of the people support defunding ObamaCare today.; but, over 70% of the people support the Declaration today.

What’s the difference? To win, you have to fight.

So fighting wins? No, that misses the point entirely. Politics is about influencing; and NOTHING influence the American like fighting for what you believe in. Fighting All In with your Life, your Fortune, and your Sacred Honor.
