Climate Depot tells us that recent postings at Climate Progress have been misinterpreted….
“How so?” The Inquiring Mind inquires.
They don’t make threats at Climate Progress – they make predictions. Here’s the latest kerfluffle at Nostradamus.com.
[Update: Joe Romm deleted the ‘strangling’ skeptics in bed remark on June 6, but now defends the comments as “clearly not a threat but a prediction” and claimed “some people misread it.” Romm wrote: “The original was clearly not a threat but a prediction — albeit one that I certainly do not agree with. Since some people misread it, I am editing it.” ]
The green fascist fringe goes beyond just Climate Progress. Mainstream left-wing blogs that Maureen Dowd filches material from get in on the act as well. This charming post was featured on Talking Points Memo.
What is so frustrating about these fools is that they are the politicians and greedy bastards who don’t want a cut in their profits who use bogus science or the lowest scientists in the gene pool who will distort data for a few bucks. The vast majority of the scientific minds in the World agree and understand it’s a very serious problem that can do an untold amount of damage to life on Earth.
So when the right wing kfuc-tards (my edit, think of the children!) have caused it to be too late to fix the problem, and we start seeing the devastating consequences and we start seeing end of the World type events – how will we punish those responsible. It will be too late. So shouldn’t we start punishing them now?
This should surprise no one who has followed the tactics of green fascists throughout the entire sordid climate change debate. Powerful NASA “scientist” James Hansen spoke of June 23, 2008 and demanded that corporate officers who doubted his science be put on trial for crimes against humanity. The Guardian.uk describes the settled science below.
James Hansen, one of the world’s leading climate scientists, will today call for the chief executives of large fossil fuel companies to be put on trial for high crimes against humanity and nature, accusing them of actively spreading doubt about global warming in the same way that tobacco companies blurred the links between smoking and cancer.
Of course, a lick-spittle mediocrity, and Bureaucrat’s Bureaucrat like James Hansen would only find the courage to put lie to the job title Civil Servant if he had high-powered allies; standing behind him in his every ridiculous distortion. The man has wind-power – the voluminous, hurricane-force support of Al Gore. Gore wrote Earth In The balance in a caffeine-driven fit of propaganda overdrive. Rich Brookhiser describes what over-the-top looks like on a Himalayan scale.
In Earth in the Balance, he invoked Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Kristallnacht, and Hannah Arendt’s “banality of evil” to describe modern man’s mistreatment of the environment. “Ironically,” wrote Gore, “Ethiopia, the first victim of modern totalitarian expansion, has also been an early victim of . . . our assault on the natural world.”
Brookhiser goes on to describe the state of mind that inspires “literature” like Earth In The balance and “commentary” like that found on Climate Progress and Talking Points Memo.
More to the point, Gore has adopted a strategy he ascribes to our dysfunctional civilization: One of the best ways of “ignoring psychic pain is to distract oneself from it, to do something so pleasurable or intense or otherwise absorbing that the pain is forgotten.” Hence all his wild shouting, his whipped-up rhetoric, his phony wars against Nazi producers and Stalinist consumers. Gore rages and blusters to give himself the illusion that he is alive. I rant, therefore I am.
This sort of thinking, this Quixotic lust for a purpose in life, a dragon to slay, a dark tower to which The Noble Roland can ride; does far more to destroy civil society than all the CO2 that will ever fly forth from my lungs. When Hannah Arendt bemoaned the banality of evil, she spoke of failed men whose money, influence and power, however acquired, could never pinch-hit for their failures as human beings.
To see this in the mirror every morning drives a person towards evil. To have the power, to crush your enemies, to see them driven before you in electoral rout, to hear the lamentation of their life-partners, and then still not be able to make the world a better place – that will make a human being vengeful and destructive.
The greatest thing we have to fear in America today is the empowered failure. The knave with a borrowed moral cause will wreck havoc and destruction against all of those whom he regards with envy. The fringe environmentalists could care less about the planet. They are as pro-environment as Eric Rudolph was truly pro-life.
Both Rudolph and the environmentalists who “predict” the strangulation of others are not in it for anything except an excuse to murder others. They are the enemy of sane humanity. It is for this reason, even more than the economic imperative, that Nancy Pelosi’s impending Cap and Trade legislation must be destroyed.
