National Security Nightmares....and we get the Big Bird attacks.

Our economy is teetering on the verge of implosion and the rest of the world with us. Yet, we see advertisements from the Obama administration using Big Bird to attack Governor Mitt Romney. Not only is this viewed as childish by most Americans, it gives us yet another glimpse into the world of the left. It would be laughable if we were not on the brink of another war in the Middle-East. It would be hilarious, if it were not for the fact that our national debt of 16 trillion dollars means each individual living right now, has just over 50,000 dollars of national debt to pay off. It could be funny if it were not for having an approximate rate of 15% for under/unemployed. We would be laughing, if Al-Qaida and other fundamental Islamismist militants were not gaining momentum and aggression. The list could go on and on, however there is one thing in particular I would like to speak of. That is the peril that this administration has placed the people of the United States in.

With the economy in such a disastrous state, it is understood that to the average voter, foreign affairs takes a back seat to the economy. However, the lack of any reasonable foreign policy, the Obama administration has left the United States in a very vulnerable state.

As anyone can understand, we lack no enemies in the United States and abroad. If it were not for the diligence of our military, law enforcement, and intelligence services our peaceful way of life, would know no peace. Yet, how long with this last if the current administration is allowed 4 more years of power?

First, and foremost the administration in their intelligence leaks over the years have damaged relations with allied intelligence service. This is particularly dangerous. Our intelligence services are limited in the amount of quality intelligence they can gather. The administrations apparent dismissal of the Israelis is notable in this respect. The Israelis are probably best at human intelligence gathering in the Middle-East. Will the Israelis and other allies continue to share intelligence under a second Obama administration? It would be foolish to think the same level of intelligence sharing would continue. Lacking sound intelligence equates directly to an increased chance of an attack on our homeland.

However, this is not the only problem created by the current administration. All of the drone attacks in the world cannot counter the effects of an appeasement base policy towards violent extremists. Appeasement only provides our adversaries renewed and bolstered aggressions against our nation and its people. Our enemies see an economically weakened nation and an even weaker President. This does not just include non-state sponsored terrorist organizations, but nations who seek nothing more than our destruction such as Iran captialize on this. In addition, nations such as Russia, China, Venezuela, and others see this as an opportunity to grab influence and power that we have lost.

Perhaps, one of the most disheartening elements is this administration’s view on the world. All but ignoring the intelligence provided to the prior to the Benghazi terrorist attack, what else has this administration ignored? We are nearing an Iranian nuclear era. Syrian chemical weapons are less and less secure. Egypt has all but embraced the calling for the destruction of Israel. Hezbollah moves freely in Lebanon. Iranian weaponry is moving freely via Iraq to Syria. Al-Qaida is moving its operations to Northern Africa. Because of the failed policies of Western Europe, N.A.T.O. is (not much has changed) on the brink of collapse (due to the financial disarray most European nations are in). In Afghanistan the Taliban are gaining more and more power. My fellow Americans, I hate to admit it, but our enemies are laughing at us, while our Allies sit with their head in their hands. This must change. The survival of our nation rests with this election. To quote Governor W. M. Romney: “…that unique blend of optimism, humility and the utter confidence that when the world needs someone to do the really big stuff, you need an American”.

Our nation is in great danger, as you all well know. However, I think it is imperative that we communicate; the economic quagmire this president has put us in is only the tip of the iceberg. There is a trend over the last twenty years against our nation, of both state sponsored and non-state sponsored terrorism. Not only do we as a nation, have to consider traditional military threats. We must also remember the threat that all of us realized on September 11, 2001. It gains more and more power each time this and any administration shows weakness and naivety. When our enemies see this it places the American people in jeopardy. Take the time to read over this list, it is merely a fraction of attacks or attempted attacks since 1993. Although many of these attacks were “home grown” terrorists, is it not feasible that given our current national security state… focused, trained, financed, dedicated, ideologically driven individuals can assault this nation when we are most vulnerable? Yes, but what do we have instead? Attack adds using Big Bird.

I could have gone into greater detail in the post, bolstered with research, and about 100 times more information… but due to limitations on time….and the fact I would probably bore everyone to tears…this will have to do.
