Among the many ways the Obama-Pelosi-Ellsworth Democrats have “taken America in the wrong direction” is through federalizing the student loan industry, Dan Coats said yesterday at Sallie Mae’s Fishers facility. In a brazen procedural gimmick, Democrats – including incumbent Congressman Brad Ellsworth – chose to stifle competition and kill jobs to ensure passage of their health spending bill and keep Sallie Mae’s employees looking over their shoulder at what may be coming next from a ‘my way or the highway’ Democrat majority.
Dan reassured Sallie Mae’s employees that if elected he would stand by them as the issue continued to be addressed in the U.S. Senate.
In response to a question about the overall economy, Dan discussed the “climate of uncertainty” the Obama-Pelosi-Ellsworth policies have perpetuated, keeping businesses from hiring again. He also discussed his Plan for America’s Fiscal Health and the importance of reducing spending, responsible entitlement reform and balancing our federal budget to ensure the future fiscal solvency of our nation.
In case you missed it, in other health care news, voters in Missouri overwhelming rejected the federal government’s mandate that individuals purchase health insurance or face stiff financial penalties from the government. You can read more about the referendum here .
The U.S. Senate is set to vote on the confirmation of Elena Kagan to the United States Supreme Court today. Dan has already said he would vote against her confirmation, but where does Congressman Ellsworth stand on this controversial nomination?
