All things are equal in weight, value and importance in the Leftist argument:
Obama 10/18/14 Weekly Address transcript as follows: “First, what we’re seeing now is not an “outbreak” or an “epidemic” of Ebola in America. We’re a nation of more than 300 million people. To date, we’ve seen three cases of Ebola diagnosed here-the man who contracted the disease in Liberia, came here and sadly died; the two courageous nurses who were infected while they were treating him. Our thoughts and our prayers are with them, and we’re doing everything we can to give them the best care possible. Now, even one infection is too many. At the same time, we have to keep this in perspective. As our public health experts point out, every year thousands of Americans die from the flu.”
Yes, we must keep our perspective by comparing non-comparable metrics. So be comforted that we have only had 3 cases of BSL-4 (Highest CDC Risk) confirmed cases while thousands die each year from the common BSL-2 influenza.
I worked for a firm that designed Biocontainment Portable Laboratories. We only designed BSL-3 and BSL-4 Labs since a BSL-2 containment required no special facilities above that in hospitals and their laboratories. A BSL-4 lab was exponentially more complicated than a BSL-3 Lab and light years beyond BSL-2 protocols and equipment. Comparing a BSL-2 risk to a BSL-4 risk as somehow an equivalency risk and danger to our population is just nonsense.
