Okay, not really. But they need to be!
The U.S. Senate has committed treason against the people of the United States. They have committed an act so vial that one dare not call it anything else.
What have they done you ask? They have perpetrated a violation against the very U.S. Constitution itself.
The Constitution. You know, that thing that each member of Congress has sworn an oath to preserve and defend?
Let’s take a short look at that Constitution for a moment:
“…the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall NOT be infringed.”
How dare that pesky Constitution thing get in the way of the statist agenda of the Obama administration and his Congressional colleagues. How dare that system, which our forefathers set up to protect our country from tyranny, constrain our poor President from allowing his authoritarian scheme to continue.
In case you have been living under a rock for the past couple of days, you know that the U.S. Senate is discussing a bill called ‘The Public Safety and Second Amendment Rights Protection Act’ (S. 649). This bill does not protect second amendment rights and its title is an insult to the people of the United States.
Over the past few weeks, a number of U.S. Senators, namely Senators Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, James Inhofe, and Marco Rubio, among a few others, had said they planned to filibuster this new gun legislation. This group of Senators sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid promising that they intended to tie up any legislation that he attempts advance that would restrict gun rights in any way. These U.S. Senators are true patriots that understand the U.S. Constitution and understand its relevance and importance in these dark days. They understand that any attempts to restrict gun ownership is a violation of that Constitution and their oath to protect it.
Yesterday however, led by Republican turncoats Sen. Pat Toomey, Republican from Pennsylvania and Sen. Joe Manchin, Democrat from West Virginia, the Senate voted to end this filibuster and begin debating the bill. The vote passed 68.31.
Even more surprising is that Sen. Toomey was not alone in voting in favor of ending this filibuster. Alone in his party that is. 16 other Republicans voted to end the filibuster. These Republican Senators included John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Susan Collins of Maine, Mark Kirk of Illinois, Dean Heller of Nevada, Johnny Isakson of George, Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, Roger Wicker of Mississippi, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Richard Burr of North Carolina, Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, Jeff Flake of Arizona, Bob Corker of Tennessee, and John Hoeven of North Dakota.
That is 16 Republicans that have chosen to allow this infringement on the American people and their right to bear arms to come to a vote.
Whether or not the bill passes, the very introduction of a bill that restricts gun rights is a treasonous act. So as I stated to begin with, Congress, the U.S. Senate specifically, should be charged with treason. Furthermore, since this legislation was obviously done at the bidding of President Obama himself, he should be charged with treason himself.
This legislation is yet another attempt by the administration to circumvent the Constitution to further his own fascist agenda. Done in response to the tragic events of the Aurora Colorado and Sandy Hook shootings last year, any attempts to restrict gun rights on any U.S. citizen, does nothing to protect children, or anybody else for that matter, from harm.
What Obama, Harry Reid, and all of the other gun control nuts do not understand is this: there are evil people in the world. These evil people do evil things. Whether they have access to guns or not, they will continue to do evil things. And despite whatever gun control laws, which again, violate the U.S. Constitution, are enacted, these evil people will still get their hands on guns.
As I have mentioned before, guns don’t commit crimes. People do. Although it is dismal to admit, there are some people out there in the world that just happen to have a head full of bad wiring that have violent tendencies and the thoughts of these people lead them to do violent things. It is unfortunate but it is true. But further restricting gun ownership is not going to end any violent crime.
The idea that those in favor of gun controls actually think that by restricting gun ownership that they can stop people from doing bad things is ridiculous and these people are highly delusional.
Violent crime has been around long before guns were even invented. Restricting guns in any way, shape or form, is not going to end violent crime. It is that simple. If you restrict gun ownership, what is next? Do you restrict ownership of knives? A baseball bat can kill a person, do you restrict those next?
These people need to wake up and realize that even if gun ownership is completely outlawed, criminals will get guns. And even if the government is somehow able to confiscate every gun from every person in the country, criminals will still commit crimes. These criminals, immoral and wicked as they may be, are highly motivated. Motivated people find ways to do what they want and get want they want. It won’t take a gun to do it.
Once the powers that be let these facts sink in and realize that guns are not the problem, they can perhaps find ways to address the real problems of this nation. Problems that they have the jurisdiction to address. Problems that the U.S. Constitution gave them the powers to address.
Restricting gun rights is not one of those powers they have to address. In fact, the U.S. Constitution specifically denies them that power and any attempt to restrict gun rights in any way is a violation of the U.S. Constitution and a violation of their oath to preserve, protect and defend that Constitution.
And an act of treason against the country and its people.
Remember folks, once the gun rights and the Second Amendment goes, the rest of your rights will follow soon after. Don’t let these treasonous members of Congress take away your rights!
