There may be a move to address the ridiculous incentives embedded in the SOQ formulas in the next session. And if you recall, when Republicans tried to reign-in this education spending block box last year, the Democrats stood on their chairs screaming about “the children.”
But again — money isn’t always the answer. Results and incentives matter even more. If McDonnell can follow through on his tentative devotion to education reform (meaning school choice), then Virginia might actually see a revolution in education that will actually do everyone’s children a great deal of good.
