Bush/Obama Poll Comparisons are Revealing

It is always interesting to compare poll numbers over time for various presidents because then you get a clearer profile of each president as he served rather than the blanket approval/disapproval from the Ancient Media.

To compare Obama and Bush, however, you always need to keep one fact in mind – their polls reflect years of pure media hatred of Bush and pure media adulation of Obama.

Here are some comparisons of the two presidents:

*At inauguration, the NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll gave Obama a 56% approval rating on handling the economy. By August 5, 2010, that number was down to 44%. Yet still the media continue to seek to portray him as much beloved personally by the people, although even that story no longer is holding water.

Meanwhile we have been told that Bush was the most horrible, unpopular president ever. The Reuters/Zogby American Poll of October 20-23, 2006, however, taken just a few weeks before the big Republican losses in the November 2006 elections and at the abyss of the Iraq war showed that Bush had an overall ‘favorable’ rating of 45%. And Zogby is considered one of the most accurate polls of all.

Hmmm. It sure is interesting comparing numbers directly rather than through a media filter.

The Ancient Media haven’t had much problem with Obama’s continuously sinking polls, however, now talking repeatedly about how Ronald Reagan had low polls in his first term but was re-elected. Yet when Bush’s poll numbers fell below 50%, the same media assured us that this surely was the end of the Republican party as we knew it, and that Bush needed to exit the national stage.

*The Gallup Poll asked 18 months after Bush left office on July 8-11, 2010, “We’d like to get your overall opinion of some people in the news. As I read each name, please say if you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of these people — or if you have never heard of them. How about George W. Bush?”

Guess what the “favorable” rating was for Bush – 45%. For the most hated president ever, according to the left. Because now the public has something to compare Bush to, rather than comparing him to the rantings of the New York Times. And they are comparing him to Barack Hussein Obama. And Americans are increasingly nostalgic for a real president. Meanwhile Obama’s polls continue to sink to the low 40s after only 21 months in office.

*A CNN/Opinion Research Poll of January 22-24, 2010 gave Bush a 43% favorable rating. Yet we are told repeatedly that “Bush had the lowest approval of any president, with only 26% at the end of his term.” This is repeated over and over. Yet here are three actual polls from January 2009 on Bush’s approval as he left office:

Gallup – 40%; ABC News/Washington Post – 37%; CBS News/New York Times – 26%

Oh, there it is – 26%. One poll that the media bring up over and over.

The NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll of January 2009 gave Bush only 31% ‘very positive’ or ‘somewhat positive’. Yet that poll only surveyed 500 adults nationwide, while most other polls survey 900 to 1,500 people and therefore are much more accurate.

*The NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll asked if people approve or disapprove of Obama’s handling of the aftermath of the Gulf oil spill. On June 17-21, 2010, that number was only 42%. By August 5-9, 2010, that number had risen to 50%.

And remember this is after total media favorability to Obama on every issue. Yet they still could not hide the public’s dissatisfaction with his handling of the Gulf spill. And the 50% number came after the spill had been capped and the story began to disappear. As if Obama had capped it himself. Which is what the Ancient Media want people to think. Dumb people that is. Who vote Democrat every time.

If Bush or McCain had been president during that spill, the media would have driven their approval numbers down to 10% with all the campaign donations from BP – that Obama received and were ignored – being highlighted on the news every  minute of every day for Republicans.

And the corruption in the Minerals Management Service over the spill would have been attributed to Bush – as in the failure of FEMA at Katrina – and not to the known corruption and incompetence in the largely Democrat government bureaucracy.

Corruption and incompetence known to conservatives, that is.

On the same spill issue, however, a CBS News Poll asked “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico?”

The number that ‘approved’ on July 9-12, 2010, before the well was capped, was only 37% and that number was 43% on June 16-20, 2010, earlier in the crisis.

These numbers sure are different from the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. And none of them are even remotely encouraging.

*The Fox News/ Opinion Dynamics poll asked “Do you approve or disapprove of the job Barack Obama is doing on the following issues? . . .”

On ‘the economy’, his numbers on July 21-22, 2009 were 50% approval when many still blamed Bush, but after his policies were finally seen as his own, the numbers by July 27-28, 2010 were just 38%, while Obama’s numbers at that time on the deficit were just 31%.

Ouch! That’s lower than Bush! The worst, most hated president in history!

*A CNN/ Opinion Research Corporation poll of July 2010 showed that only 42% of all voters ‘definitely’ think that Obama was born in the United States!

Woahhhh! 42% is hardly a rousing show of support on a topic that the media have marginalized as a lunatic-fringe issue. You would think that after the media assaults on anyone who ever mentioned Obama’s birth certificate that the number of people who believed he ‘definitely’ was born in America would certainly be 90% or more.

But there it is. 42%. Huh… And only 37% of independents say ‘definitely’ the US.

Wow. You never see figures like that on NBCCNNABCCBSMSNBC. They’re too busy calling us conservatives “racists”. But like the boy who cried wolf, this tactic no longer works.

It is important to remember that polls can be skewed to say whatever the pollster wants. Just the time of day that calls are made, the day itself, or, obviously, the registration of voters called can tip polls easily one way or another. Most polls are conducted by media organization and are skewed toward Democrats anyway.

And if you start to look into the details and ‘internals’ of these polls (inside information that goes deeper into what people are really saying), you will better understand that Obama is in worse shape than we are allowed to know.

If the media were just neutral, Obama would be cooked. If the media treated Obama the way they treated Bush, Obama would be back in Chicago doing his community organizing and playing pinochle with Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright.
