An Administration of Cowards

On Tuesday, February 17, a huge brawl broke out at a basketball game involving George Washington Carver high school in Alabama. From the TV tapes, it appeared that all the brawlers were black.

On Wednesday, February 18, US attorney general Eric Holder, who is black, called America “a nation of cowards” on the subject of race. “If we’re going to ever make progress, we’re going to have to have the guts, we have to have the determination, to be honest with each other. It also means we have to be able to accept criticism where that is justified,” Holder said.

So why didn’t the brawlers in Alabama have “the guts… the determination” to talk to one another over their disagreement over a simple basketball game instead of resorting to rioting?

Holder said that America “still had not come to grips with its racial past, nor has it been willing to contemplate, in a truly meaningful way, the diverse future it is fated to have.”

“To our detriment, this is typical of the way in which this nation deals with issues of race,” he said.

Gee, Mr. Holder, didn’t we just elect a black president? And didn’t you come from Barbados and rise to attorney general of the United States?

It is clear the the Obama administration is harder left than most people knew but that many of us warned about. And Holder’s remarks are part of a reprehensible, ongoing monologue that is seeking to provoke racial animosity and to divide the nation along racial lines in an attempt to empower blacks in the most corrupt way possible, not through achievement but by the leftist tactics of guilt, anger, threats and intimidation. Think Jesse Jackson. Holder is turning up the heat in a way that would earn a Republican national scorn and a loss of his job. And obviously Obama approves. Otherwise he would have condemned the remarks.

Some of us warned that this was coming. We warned about Obama’s friend William Ayers, the terrorist; about Obama’s corrupt world in Chicago; about Obama’s mother’s communist leanings; and about Obama’s indoctrination with left-wing ideas growing up, including his relationship with his stepfather far-left Indonesian activist Lolo Soetero.

And despite the fact that Obama’s own black African father abandoned him, and despite the fact that Obama was raised by his white mother and by his caring white grandparents, this is what Obama said about whites in his book Dreams From My Father:

“I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.”

Or: “It was my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d package all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, Dubois and Mandela.”

Or: “To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students, the foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets.”

Or: “I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race.”

Or: “That hate hadn’t gone away,” he wrote, blaming “white people — some cruel, some ignorant, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.”

Meanwhile, Obama said in a campaign interview about his white grandmother: “Whatever strength and discipline I have comes from her.”

So which is it? What is the war that is going on inside an obviously confused Obama? And how is it being imprinted onto his presidential administration?

It is plain to see that Obama is not who many gullible people thought he was. He ran as a likeable agent of change, someone who cared about the well-being of the nation. Yet today we see his attorney general spouting division and Obama’s face filled with anger. Obama rarely smiles or shows any likeable characteristics. Just look at the way his eyes often have a dark frown around them.

Obama represents the far left on every issue from government spending to labor unions to race. And one month into his administration his attorney general has thrown a racial hand grenade into the debate, as if America did not already have enough to think about and worry about. But that is the style of the left – constantly agitating, constantly provoking, constantly seeking the upper hand by any means possible. That is why Obama continues to bad-mouth the economy – in order to rule through fear.

Obama and his wife are angry people. His wife maligned America repeatedly during the campaign despite the fact that she had received a scholarship to Princeton and was earning more than $300,000 a year working for a hospital.

But look at the words and the deeds and tactics of Jesse Jackson and you see the roots of Obama’s anger. Look at the rise of Al Sharpton who came to national prominence falsely accusing a group of white men of raping a young black female named Tawana Brawley in 1986. It was all a lie. Yet Sharpton is the voice of black America.

It is liberals who continue to fan the flames of racial division. Al Gore said recently that white racism “is not hard to find”. These comments come every single day. In South Carolina recently black Democrat US congressman James Clyburn was responding to white Republican governor Mark Sanford who opposed Clyburn on government earmark spending. Said Clyburn of Sanford: “He happens to be a millionaire. He may not need help for the plantation his family owns…”

Yet if one conservative mentions the avalanche of criminality by blacks against whites, with rape, robbery and murder rates at 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 times the rate that whites commit such crimes against blacks (read the stats on fbi.gov) we might actually need to have a real debate over who precisely in America is acting in a “racist” manner against people of another race. Is the “chasm of misunderstanding” between the races that Holder talked about not a misunderstanding at all but a clear acknowledgment by whites of relentless black criminality?

Holder ought to hold his tongue. Or we conservatives will start to raise some issues that we have held our tongues about for decades.

It is crucial to remember what has happened here. The Democrats have destroyed black America and turned it against whites… and against itself. The public schools, run lock, stock and barrel by Democrat teacher unions, have failed millions upon millions of black children. The inner cities, controlled with an iron grip by the Democrat party, are bastions of crime, illegitimacy and failure. Entertainment-industry liberals get rich while feeding young black America angry and violent hip-hop and rap music and low-grade media trash. Follywood makes films, TV shows and music videos infused with endless violence, guns and abuse.

Yet if a conservative Christian suggests that young black males find a better way through their churches and a responsible family structure, he is shouted down.

These pathologies all come at the hands of the Democrat party that has commanded the black community for decades now. Once a race of caring people with their families, their churches and their businesses intact, blacks now find their families devastated, their schools destroyed, their churches maligned, traditional success belittled and violence encouraged. In the meantime, America as a whole is impugned as a “nation of cowards.”

Perhaps next time a basketball game breaks down into riots, we will learn from it rather that from the charged rhetoric of people like Eric Holder, James Clyburn… and Barack Obama.
