Erick posted the Declaration of Independence this morning and I was glancing at it as I drank some coffee.
I will confess that I have not really read it since I was a kid in sixth grade and back then I didn’t understand it. It was written in that sort of Shakespeare like language that really is above the head of a kid. And many adults too.
So sue me.
So as I was reading today this morning I was thinking to my self….hmmmmm “Doesn’t that sound familiar” and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
Then I realized….it is almost a perfect description of the Obama administration.
Think about it.
If we were back in colonial times who’s side do you think Barack Obama and those in his administration and all his rumpswab media groupies would be on…?
The only answer of course would be the side of the British.
If there is anyone today that I can picture wearing powdered wigs and silky frilly clothes while they had lavish parties and laughed and sneered at the commoners it would be the Obamas and all their cronies and media fans.

Come on. That fool would look perfect in a powdered wig and little bit of rouge on his cheeks.Can you picture him in a silky pink embroidered outfit spitting out contemptuous bile directed at the commoners and Patriots while he is leaning against the harpsichord…?
It’s pretty easy isn’t it.

Ok but back to the D of I.
This was written 234 years ago and it was describing the abuses of the British and King George III but if you read it today you can very easily see many paragraphs describe someone else too.

Obamacare. TARP and seizing auto companies, banks and student loan programs.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano. Illegal immigration. Bankruptcy laws.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

Hello….Jan Brewer anyone….? Arizona and Bobby Jindal in Louisiana.
Illegal immigration and the Gulf spill.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

Obamacare law and other legislation crafted behind closed doors without any Republican input.
White House official meeting with lobbyists at coffee shops and using private e-mail so they cannot be tracked.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

“I won”.
“Come on John…the election is over”

He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

Oh come on….do I even have to say it…?

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

This is getting scary.

For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

Civilian trials for terrororist to be held in New York. Ending military tribunals.

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

Obamacare and cap and trade.

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:

Strong arming BP and forcing secured investors of GM to take .29 cents on the dollar outside of bankruptcy court.

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:

Apology tour.

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

Obamacare. Commerce Clause.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

Not really a stretch here people.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

Tea Party. Janet Napolitano and weak national security.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Oh man….that one nailed him. That is a perfect description of the uprising against all the spending and Obamacare and the way that Obama and the Democrats in Congress have absolutely sneered in contempt at tens of millions of American who simply have tried to be heard.
You also cannot deny that the media considers Obama to be a Prince.
